I meant to say "I tried to TRAP a feral cat this weekend?????

I caught a racoon instead!!!!!!!
He was a little one, so my neighbor took him to his farm and let him go.
He was getting into my trash anyway but I was trying to catch our feral cat "Sharon", she had kittens every 6 months and I have had no luck in catching her, she is too smart to go into the trap.
But i am going to try the techniques listed by some posters here to try to get her so we can have her "fixed".
Have to catch this cat, she is having about 8+ kittens a year and i cannot continue to try to give them away.
i am going to try tying the trap door shut and leaving the food in front, then inside the trap.
Hope this works!!!!!!

Good luck! It took me about 3 weeks to re-trap a cat that I had trapped months before - but I was eventually successful. Just many many nights of attempts and patience.
Everyone's advice here was very helpful. I had to gradually place the food further in the trap (and not set the trap to spring - used twistie ties to hold it) so she would eventually eat in the trap. It took a long time, but it worked! Just make sure you're monitoring the trap. I also bought this calming spray that I sprayed the cage with 5 minutes prior to putting food in, lined with paper towels (she was scared of the newspaper because she was trapped that way before).

Good luck!!!

Hey, I don't know if you've tried it or not but KFC gets them every time! It has to be fresh so right before you trap, go through the drive through and get some original recipe.

I have read about this australian professional cat hunter (they have lots of ferale ferales there, being big nuisance. They do of course have their share of common homeless and semiferales...).

Ok, this pro hunter did used rotten chees as his favorite bait. It did worked for him!
