Hi, sorry if this has ever been done before, I am relatively new here and just being a bit nosey
I have 5 cats and they have quite normal dietery needs apart from Billy who if he eats his food too quickly he is sick, the vet said this is a nervous disorder. Mine eat a mixture of dry and wet food-KiteKat tinned wet food and Go Cat indoor Cat dry food (they love this-I have tried normal Go cat dry food but they do not like it) I think the indoor cat has more vitamins and nutrients in. I don't really measure my food, they have 2 tins of wet food and about a quarter of a box of dried food a day.

Lucky - All Dry, 50/50 Orijen 6-Fish and Acana Grasslands
Bugsy - Dry, same as above + 1 3oz can of Tiki Cat /day
Hope: All wet, ZiwiPeak. For extra calories I give her ZiwiPeak "dry" - not kibble, it is meat jerky.

Hi, Ruthyb! I have five cats, too. This is our weekly menu:

Breakfast
About 9ozs of gizzards, chicken or beef heart, beef round, or pork loin.

Lunch
Monday, Wednesday, & Saturday: Bone-in meals of about 12oz of chicken wings, two and a half quail, 13oz of chicken backs, or 16oz of chicken necks.

Tuesday and Friday: Organ meals of 4.5ozs of liver & 4.5oz of kidney.

Saturday and Sunday: A shared turkey drumstick or chicken leg quarter.

Dinner
About 9ozs of chicken breast meat, or a shared turkey drumstick or chicken leg quarter.

Once a week, they share a single 3.75oz can of sardines and every couple of weeks, they get a whole mouse apiece or share a couple dozen live crickets or an egg or two.

They are getting Max Cat (and RC) dry and will be switching over to all Max Cat soon. In the canned, they get Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Iams, Natural Balance, Max Cat, Avoderm and Nature's Choice.

We feed dry in the morning, canned at night and 2 times a week they get either raw chicken wings or stew beef.

Monday: Chicken Drumstick with 0.88 ounce liver
Tuesday: Beef with 0.88 ounce kidney
Wednesday: Chicken hearts and giblets
Thursday: Chicken drumstick with 0.88 ounce liver
Friday: Beef with 0.88 ounce kidney
Saturday: Pork
Sunday: Turkey drumstick (depends on size, most of the time they are small so one drumstick per cat).

Thats what each cat gets on a normal day. Sometimes beef will be changed out for lamb or chicken drumsticks changed out for chicken necks.

Obviously I am a raw feeder and proud of it! No commercial junk for mine anymore

Callie~Breakfast & Dinner, a small amount of raw chicken, a teaspoon of pumpkin, a bit of Wellness canned grain-free, and various medications. Throughout the day, Science Diet k/d day (for kidney issues)--not my choice of the best food for her but it's what she loves.

Hannah~Breakfast & DInner, raw chicken, pumpkin, 1/8 of a 5.5 oz can of Wellness grain free. Throughout the day, lunch, mid-evening, and before bedtime, less than 1/8 cup of Wellness CORE/Taste of the Wild dry.

Tolly gets two 3 oz cans or pouches of wellness, plus a tablespoon of wellness kibble. He weighs 9.5 pounds

Mazy, who has FLUTD, eats Hill's prescription c/d kibble only, though I am researching prescription canned foods (not much choice) 5 tablespoons in total (which is just under 1/2 cup a day She weighs 8.5 pounds

Jennie, same as Tolly except I can add a lot of water to her wet food (Tolly will only accept a tiny bit of water). She weighs 8.5 pounds

I schedule feed, two servings in the morning a snack midday, two servings in the evening, and a snack before bed.

Tolly is much thinner than the girls, though he weighs more, he is bigger boned.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Mine are free fed TOTW dry all day. But for breakfast and dinner I split 1 can of 9 lives between the three and then split another can on 9 lives between them for dinner. I think Im going to have to add more to Fatmans food though because he has started beating up the other cats for their wet food. He is very rude

My two get wet food twice a day, mostly rotating between flavors of Max Cat, Fancy Feast and ProPlan. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck converting them to the higher quality canned foods. I free feed the dry food.

My male developed UTI issues over the summer so I had to switch them to Royal Canin SO dry, but his urine sample came back normal at his physical a couple of weeks ago so the vet said I could start mixing in some of the Blue Buffalo dry I was feeding before along with the RC and see how it went. So far so good. However, I've been researching and I think I may try the Wysong Uretic formula in place of the RC once I finish out my current bag.

For now [since he is still a kitten, almost 6 months old], he his free-fed 1/3 cup dry over the course of the day, but sometimes it's reduced to 1/4 depending on certain days that I'll explain below.

For his meals he is given 1/4 3 oz. can morning and evening.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays he is given a very tiny amount of raw chicken and/or raw vineson, depending on the season. Also turkey or lamb if I can get a hold of some. My family gives me frozen chicken necks whenever I go back to visit my parent's house at least once a month, so I give those every now and then and adjusts the servings of wet/dry appropriately.

Hey Carolinalima

I tried giving my cats some the Ziwipeak. I mixed in a bit of it to Samson's dry but he gave me the evil eye and would not go near his dish

And Rascal, well, he seemed to like the smell of it, took a couple of bites, stepped back grimaced, swallowed and shuddered, shook his head as if to say "what is this stuff eeeeyuuuckkk".

I'm trying to keep Rascal away from Samson's MC31 but it's very hard as he really likes it too. But unfortunately it does not agree with him as it gives him diarrhea, yet Samson is fine on it. It would be nice if I could get them to eat the same thing.

So I'm wondering did your cats initially love it? Did it grow on them? Should I keep trying or just return it?

Hope is the one who is fed 100% Ziwipeak - she does not like the Lamb flavor though, at all... If i feed it to her, I need to mix with the other flavors.
As far as the other flavors goes, she loves it, and took to it immediately.
Did you mix the can well, and made it into a pate?
Cats are weird though - you never know what they will like it

I would try a little more, just because it is a fantastic food - IMHO it doesn't get better than that - however, if they don't eat... then it doesn't really matter.
Is there something in your house you can sprinkle the food with?
My "tool" of choice is Halo Dinner Party - either chicken, or in my house Salmon. The kidds will eat almost anything with that stuff sprinkled on, and it is healthy - just freeze dry meat and herbs.
Anyways, good luck!

Schweppie gets 1/4 cup of Now! Turkey and Duck dry and 1/4 can of...well, it used to be either Natural Balance's Duck and Green Pea or Venison and Green Pea then it was Salmon and Green Pea or Chicken and Green Pea but now he's off those so now it's Now! Chicken, turkey grain-free wet....ohh that guy is too picky. these amounts are twice a day

Little Guy gets 1/4 cup of the same dry and 1/4 can of either Nature Variety's Homestyle Turkey, Chicken, Beef, or Lamb stews OR Nature Variety's Instinct in Rabbit, Venison or Lamb. I switch it up. Sometimes he'll get the Homestyle stew in Seafood just for a treat.

Schweppie only likes the cheap crap treats so he doesn't get any treats except maybe a sip of my cereal milk on occasion. Little Guy eats my dog's treats but both get those rarely.

Sometimes I'll put a few pieces of Hills T/D in my cats' bowls - I call it McDonald's night as it's crap junk food but they seem to love it.

Thanks for your resply Carolinalima
the one I bought is the air dried meat. It looks like thinly sliced pieces, comes in a pouch and its the venison flavor.

Trouble is Rascal does like that MC31 so it's hard finding another dry that he will like that is grain free.

I guess I can always try giving him a little more of the Ziwi, but after his initial reaction... I don't know. If it was your cat, what would you do?
