Feliway?

Where is a good place to get it? I was thinking it might help Pretty Girl calm down. The change has realy been hard on her and I thought something that would help her relax and adjust at first would help.

I've used Amazon, but others here may have cheaper sources.

I've also started using the homeopathics at www.spiritessence.com which are stronger than Rescue Remedy (which has never worked for either my cats nor myself), have more of a variety, and were developed by a vet. They've been VERY helpful. 877-85-SPIRIT.

^Hmm, it didn't work for me either. Which varieties have you tried and just how much of a difference has it made?

Have you ever used the "Changing Times"? If so, how well did it work and hwo do you use it?

I've used Sprit Essences Peacemaker for a while, and it's eased the tension between Moose and Lucy.

I also use Feliway which I buy from www.petguys.com

When you buy the diffuser, does it come with the stuff to put in it or will I need to buy that separately?

I have to laugh. The first time I used them, I looked around and discovered that all my kitties were fast asleep and I was sleepy as well. This still happens occasionally.

I called the folks at Spirit Essences and told Sirena my problems and went with her suggestions with the following results:

Merlin, my alpha cat, gets Bully Remedy directly applied and I put Peacemaker in their water. Result: He and Whimsey have started grooming and sleeping with each other.

Whimsey, my IBD kitty, gets Happy Tummy and Trauma-Free which has really de-stressed him. He doesn't wake me up at 2 or 4:00 a.m. wanting to be feed and then refusing to eat. He now waits until 6:00 a.m. which is a huge change and his chronic nausea seems to have vanished.

Magic gets Feral Cat Rehab and has started playing with the other cats and has stopped being a "ghost" kitty. He has discovered the joys of tossing around his toy mouse and has been playing in and out of my cat carriers. This is the cat who has only been vetted once because I couldn't get him in a carrier.

Lastly, because I get this stuff on my hands, I am sleeping so much better! I refuse to speculate as to which one seems to be having this effect on me!

Wow, sounds like they really work. So you just put it in their water huh?

No, actually, Sienna, gave me specific instructions. They get three drops three times a day massaged into the tops of their heads. Whimsey gets the 3 drops of the Trama on the top of his head and then three drops of the Happy Tummy on the back of his head. By the time I'm finished, he's purring! I've noticed that the palms of my hands will tingle for a while afterwards.

I bought my Feliway diffusers at Petsmart (and they were expensive!!!) I've actually purchased many of the refills from different merchants on eBay, and have found them at a much cheaper cost than any of the retailers in town. I think they've helped with Lola's agression issues. I used them when I first introduced Lola about 5 years ago....and I've started using them again, since she's been taking out her 'redirected aggression' on Cleo, because of the stray that has been hanging around the neighborhood. I think it's also helping Maggie's timidness too.

I put a few drops in the water bowls each day and some on Moose's head morning and night, since he gets "hissy" with Lucy. He still has his moments, but overall, they are getting along much better.

If you buy it online at spiritessences.com use the promo CATCHAT for 5% off.

The best price for feliway I have found is at entirelypets.com. A diffuser and one vial costs $22.99. Shipping is only 4.99 and if you google entirelypets.com coupon, you can usually come up with a coupon code for free shipping or a percentage off.

I love feliway plug in diffusers!!

<disclaimer: I do not work for or have any stake in the website I recommended. I have ordered from them a few times and have been quite happy with the prices, and service.>

I also buy mine from Entirely Pets. Right now, they have free shipping for orders over $25. Coupon Code: NOSTRESS99 It is for a limited time, but I don't see the expiration date.

A couple more questions about the spiritessences, and maybe anyone else reading is wondering this, too.

About how many drops a day total are you using and for how many cats? How long do the one ounce bottles last at this rate of use?

Are they still have rambunctious bouts of play? It hasn't affected them racing through the house or anything like that, has it? (no one wants their cats being lazy)

I haven't noticed any personality changes; it just seems to take the edge off Moose and calms him down. He still plays as always, but doesn't get as upset when Lucy comes near.
I use about 6 - 10 drops a day (3 in the am and 3 at night on his head and 2 or three in the water bowls morning and night). I buy the two ounce bottles and it lasts a long time.

Can you give a rough estimate as to how many months? I have more than two and I'm trying to figure out how long an ounce would even last.

I guess it all depends on how much you dispense each day per cat. I only treat one and an ounce bottle lasts two or three months.

I tried it with Cleo and it did not work at all.

Rescue Remedy doesn't work on any of my three cats, but Spirit Essences and Feliway does. Go figure!
Feliway does not work either.
I will try the other one next.

Well, I have four cats and use it 3 -4 times per day three drops each time. I think my 1 oz bottles are going to last at least a month. Call them and see what they say. They've been really helpful.
