Turkish Angora

Ok, through massive research (after someone saying once that Rosalie resembles this breed) I've basically fallin inlove with them. They're beautiful and their "temperaments" (although I know no two cats are the same) just seem so.. everything I love about a kitty (and also make me wonder even more if Rosalie does have TA somewhere in her line). I'm doing my research of course and looking up breeders online and was just wondering what anyone's experience with this breed is, if any. Any breeders (in the states) that you'd recommend? It'd basically be a pet cat BUT I've recently been looking into shows (I've asked questions about that before and been reading up on that, only think that's stopped me from getting into it now is the fact of not being near anywhere that does shows now but that might change in the future depending on what base we get stationed at next) so there's always potential that, if I enjoy it enough it'd be a show kitty. Also there's a specific breeder site I've looked into and quite frankly, I've fallen for some of the kitties there, mainly a calico they have (I seriously calico's!). Anywho, just looking for advise and anything else that can be offered

I had a TA that I showed. He was a very nice cat, but decided after he grew to an adult that showing was not in his career. He was a very active and playful cat. He was the only longhair I'll ever own. I do not like the grooming involved.

I prefer shorthair cats, but do agree the TA's are pretty cool if you like the longhair cats.

I'm no help but I've only ever met two TUV's before (they're new in my country) and I was told by the owner that they were both quite skittish. Ha! The minute I picked them up they were the most loving, docile cats. They are so beautiful and elegant too.

I feel so spoiled having a foreign type cat in Longhair pajamas in my section of the show hall now (LH). They're very beautiful but that's my very small experience with them. Hopefully I'll get to judge some next year - will probably have a few seminars on them next year.

Thanks. Yes, I've never really been a fan of LH before but I've recently come to fall inlove with them (as well as ragdolls!) but it's just something about them that just makes me go "AWWW!" lol. Rosalie's going to be LH (or MH, lol) so I might as well get used to it

Here is a link to a good breeders site.

I see her cats at the shows all the time and she is a Master Clerk at some the TICA shows.
She has given me great advice.

My friend has a white Turkish Angora female. She is very active and curious little kitty, loves to play with water. When I met her the first time and tried to take a pic of her, she climbed on to my shoulder to see what I was doing with the camera.

Awww! Rosalie likes the water as well, she actually sits in the tub and plays with the water that drips from the faucet lol. I've never had such an affectionet kitty and TA's sound so much like what I love about her and in kitties in general! This is the site I was origonally looking at, any experience with them?

IMO there are many cats that like playing in water. My Cornish Rex and Ocicats do.
