we lost our beloved cat "Penelope" last year, she was almost 18 years old.
we had raised her from a kitten and after she died, I made my wife a photo album from the time we first got her until the last picture i took of her.
she was my wife's cat, she just tolerated me (ha ha) but i loved her too.
we were not going to get another cat for awhile but Sharon, a semi-wild feral cat came to our house and had 4 beautiful kittens, two were turkish vans and we kept one, she is Delilha, and she has been a blessing to us.
she is intelligent, loving and very beautiful. i am glad we got her.
i did not know how much you could come to love a cat, but when penelope died, i cried like a baby, so did my wife.

Delilha has always been a "daddy's girl" from day one but she loves us both. She will not have anything to do with anyone else. she loves water, gets in the bath tub all the time.
I know now why people say that when they lose a cat, it is like losing one of the family, because they are family.

That is a beautiful tribute to your beloved cat. So glad you had the room in your hearts for another precious soul.

Hello and welcome! I'm sorry for the loss of your beloved Penelope but so happy you've been Chosen by anther cat to love. I've heard that water loving is a trait of the turkish van kitties.

Yes, cats (or any pets) are indeed members of the family.

Can't wait to see some pictures!

What became of the mama and the other kittens?

I'm so sorry about Penelope, but it sounds like she played a part in sending Delilha to help heal your hearts

thanks to everyone for all the kind words, it really does help to know that there are so many cat lovers out there.
i am glad my wife made me into a cat lover.
i still miss our penelope, she was a good cat.
