I got an e-mail at work the other day and it's struck me so hard that I can't get my mind off of it.

The wife of a friend of a coworker has H1N1 flu that turned into pneumonia. She has a 50% chance of survival right now because her organs are shutting down. She's 30 years old with a young son.

The family is asking for prayers. If you can spare some prayers or vibes for Heather, it would be appreciated.

That is so sad and unfortunately we are likely to hear many similar stories in the upcoming months ahead..
My thoughts and prayers are with her and many vibes are coming her way.

Of course, Amy... vibes: for Heather and her family, and may the vaccine reach everyone else in time.

I just got an update on Heather this afternoon. She is still alive, but she lost her kidneys (will be on dialysis for the rest of her life), and when her circulation failed, it damaged enough of her body so that she will lose at least 1 leg and some of her hands. She may still not survive, but it assumed she'll be in ICU for at least another 3 weeks if she can make it over the next hump.

All this from H1N1. More vibes for her family would be appreciated.
