Many of you know that I am involved in an effort to change policy at a local county high kill animal control.

When I first started with this last May/June - there was this one woman in the group who was sort of sharing leadership duties with a second woman.

This first person - who I shall call M, turned out to be a real loose cannon.

And a bit of a head case. Craving drama and being in the middle of it. Bossing people around like they were flunkies. PItting people against each other. Convincing herself, and trying to convince others, of all the hard work she is doing, but makes herself scarce when she is asked to actually do something, sending long rambling, sometimes shrieking emails.... and on and on....

Well, she and the group are headed in different directions.... but it was my turn in the barrel for her venom and snarky childish behavior. I don't even want to go into details, but I am sooooo exhausted from dealing the human-generated drama around animal welfare.

It freaking isn't about YOU!!!! It's about changing policy; it's about saving lives; it's about reformation and transformation of an existing facility by using best practices.

Sigh .... soooo many times I just want to quit. Why am I doing this... then I see a sweet sad face online ... I can't bear to go into the animal control anymore... and I have to keep going.

Thanks for reading.

I am so sorry that you have to deal with that woman. Its a shame that the animals have to put their lives in her hands as well. People who crave drama are detrimental to everyone and everything around them.

Did you ever find out what the deal was with the person who joined and their first post was after (not sure if it was exactly an attack) you in the health section? Was that just a weird coincidence or was it someone you were having problems with?

If the latter, and it's not impossible this could happen, you might want to consider taking your location off if you're going to talk about groups/people you have issues with. I'd hate to see anyone else hunt you up and attack you again.
If these people crave drama, as you claim they do, it wouldn't surprise me they'd bring it here...

Thanks. I suspect that was someone from my old rescue who maybe put wo and two together. He/she hasn't posted since. This person I am talking about in this thread is not rescue- we are all working on policy change. But I am just tired of the drama.

Also thanks for thinking of my well being. I will contemplate removing my location. The funny thing is - I never said the name of the rescue. So who would know except the people directly involved?

Cheers!

It's those involved I worry about.
Take care of yourself. For sanity when dealing with those who would surely make you lose a bit of your mind.
