Do any of your cats trill chirp and meow?

I just noticed this morning that GiGi and Hercules will trill to each other and set of this kinda round robin type trilling and chirping...Its so cute! And then when this happens toss in a little Fatman meowing and Ive got a kitty chorus going on....Ive started to see that the trills and chirps from Herc and GiGi are like their playful sounds (dont really hear any meows out of them unless they are locked out of the bathroom) and Fatman doesnt trill or chirp at all he has yowls and meows! I dont think he has a playful side AT ALL!! He is a big fat cry baby!! Haha!

Can you understand your cats meows yowls trills and chirps???

I'm getting there. I love the cooing noise that one of my fosters makes - it's a friendly, hi there that he uses. He is trying to win over the crabby foster who lives in my spare bedroom.

He and his brother "talk" to each other in those coos and trills.

Hobbs is an only cat so when he starts trilling or chirping it's because he's seen something outside, be it another cat, a rabbit, or a squirrel. He also "murphs" I don't know what else to call it, but it sounds like he's saying "murph"

Abbey rarely meows, but when she's playing I hear these little happy kitten chirps all over the house. Cammy meows a LOT, she likes giving her opinion, when she wants to get pet she does this little meow-purr thing. They are so cute!

Genever meows when she wants out of BFs mega cuddle hold, or when I'm putting her food dish down. It's like an annoyed meow- either LET ME GO DADDY! or GIVE ME FOOD NOWWW!

Otherwise she mostly does the chirp thing, I call it the Marge Simpson impression, when she jumps up on the couch or bed, or when she is on the bed and wants us to wake up, or if she generally just wants to play or say hello.

Both of my girls chirp and meow. Hannah's the only one who trills and it's so cute! They don't talk to each other in their "private cat language", but I love to hear them "talk" to the birds.

Sneaky Pie "squeaks" when she wants something. It's actually quite cute. The squeak though is only when she's not desperate.

Once that happens, it's a very annoying "MEOW"

Our rainbow bridge kitty Mistoflees
made all kinds of noises. Squeaks, chirps, you name it he made it
He would get this meow that just sounded desperate when you opened a can of wet food
Like we'd never fed him before

My Scarlett lets out noises that you wouldn't recognize as cat sounds. She does chirp and trill and do other things, but she grunts, screams, moans and does other things. She's cutest with her silent meows.

Koko chirps all the time.

I just reread everyone's responses and realized that this appears to happen more with girl cats than boys. Hmmmm.........

I've mostly heard trilling from females in heat. So maybe it's a "flirty" noise that only the ladies make? My mom's cat (my childhood cat...20 years old now) trills all the time. She went into heat before she was spayed and nearly made us all insane from the noises she made.

None of my cats are much for making noises. Although Scotty will go into the spare room at night with his toy in his mouth, and HOWL! Whatever that's about.

Add one more girl to the list: Lucy is a champion chirper and triller. When she does meow, it's in this 'little" high pitched voice. She makes me smile whenever she opens her mouth!

Siamie trills. Speck chirps when he sees a light or reflection and he also does it to announce himself when he walks into a room. I love it.

Angus does the "mwurf" (really fast sound) when a bug gets inside and he's chasing it. I hear that it's characteristic of the cornish rex to make odd sounds (and just be very verbal in general). When he gets into his daily crazy chasing thing (not bug related), he lets out short barky like meows right before he rockets off. Oh, who could forget the distinctive long drawn out low meow that means "I'm about to barf!".

I think my screen name will answer if my cat (and former cats) make noises, lol.
When Ginger chirps and trills it's usually when she wants something, food, loves, and knows the cute noises will get her what she wants (I have the spine of a marshmallow)
She will also let out a trill if I touch her when she is sleeping. It's how I got my screen name, but not from her trills. A cat I had rescued from a bad home, Taco, a big calico cat, would trill when touched while sleeping with a big poof of the tummy to vocalize a teeny tiny ity bitty sounding trill.
I would think if it was an alarm call or telling me to get away, it would have been something less giggle inducing.

Ginger will also trill and chirp while rubbing on my legs while, ahem, I am on the potty. I have no idea what she wants in that case, but it seems very important to her that she does this.

My domestics meow, with a few trills here and there. My bobcats bark, chuff, chirp, growl, make other sounds that I can not describe, but do not meow. My cougar chirps, purrs a lot and no meows from him as well.

You are so right about this. Lucy knows what my reaction will be and she turns on the charm whenever she wants something (and usually gets it)!

Roxy does, but she is a Maine Coon so trills and chirps are normal for her breed.

Church (DSH) also sometimes trills, and he chatters to the birds a lot. He also has a very high pitched meow.

This morning I was awakened to many trills and chirps from GiGi..When we first found her she just meowed but it sounded like a growling disgruntled sound but once her and Hercules became the demon duo he taught her her trills and chirps and now the two of them together think its fun to wake mommy and daddy up by doing their race car donuts on the bed while trilling at each other! But I love listening to it because Hercules sounds so manly and GiGi so feminine its adorable!

Sho - strangled mew sound, or usually just motions and no noise. If angry/scared he cries the typical cat sound but it sounds very unmasculines for a cat his size.

Sherman - Chirps. Has recently started to let out a few weird half chirped meows.

Tomas - Meows. Very normal stereotypical meows that carry across the house when he raises his voice in his "come look" series of urgent calls.

Siri - Raspy female cat meows, she also lets out the most awful yowls mmuurrrRRRROOOOW rrrRROOOOW rrrRROOOOW. Sounds a bit like a female cat in heat... Usually in the mornings and from the opposite side of the house. Her "pay attention to me now" meow is a softer murr-rowh meow, usually muffled by a toy.

Semi-feral kittens. One girl makes weak squeaks, she knows she's being cute when she does it. The other has mewed a kitten mew a few times. The male has so far been silent. They all purr readily though.

MewMew - Rasphy female cat meow, cute kitten like meows, and that awful yowl. (I think nearly every female cat I've had has yowled at some point..) Probably the noisiest cat I've ever been around.

Boo - He has a very dignified meow. He literally sounds like a person saying meow... It amuses everyone because he will answer his name every single time it's said with a perfect "meeoow".
He was a semi feral who originally barely meowed much - I would always say "meow for me Boo". Maybe that's why it sounds like he says meow?
