Hi

My cat has been pulling her hair out for months now - to the point where her belly and legs look like she's been shaved.

I think it has been caused by lots of changes including building work, moving house and having a baby. Unfortunately I can't afford vet bills at the moment and have no car so it is difficult to even get to a vet.

Any idea what can be done to help stop her pulling her hair out ? and also what can a vet prescribe if it is caused by stress ?

Also as the weather is getting cold - should I limit her time outdoors as I think she might get too cold because of her hair loss.

Thanks
Carla

You think - but you don't know. She could have an allergy that you're not aware of. A vet would be best...

Keep her in, make sure she doesn't have fleas or that they're in your home, start trying to rule out possible allergens.
To help with stress you can get feliway diffusers and even try something like rescue remedy - but you need to make sure she has a place in the home that she can feel safe in. A quiet room that she's always allowed to retreat to and not be bothered.
