So you've picked up that I love music?

1.- Wich one is your favourite Genre of Music?
Just about anything except Country/Western and Rap. I am a huge fan of the Blues, Cajun/Zydeco, Reggae and Reggae offshoots (like Ska).

2.- How many Cd´s do you have?
We must have about 700 CD's in our collection. DH buys individual CD's and I buy the collections (box sets). Most of our Christmas presents to each other involve CD's.

3.- Wich one is your favourite singer Male?
Do I really have to pick one? I can't say that I have a favorite singer, as I listen to music more for the instruments than vocals. It's the entire band that pulls it together for me rather than the singer.

4.- Wich one is your favourite singer Female?
Same answer as male singers, but I will say that Joan Baez's voice from years ago used to send chills up my spine. Listen to Diamond's and Rust on a good stereo system some time and tell me you don't get the shivers.

5.- Have you ever to listened at http://www.rippingtons.com/ ?????
I haven't, and since I'm at work right now, I can't listen until I get home tonight. I'll jump on later and respond to this one.

6.- Do you have a CD collection? ( I mean for example all Cd´s from a determinate artist???
I have nearly complete collections of a number of artists: The Who, Los Lobos, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Southern Culture on the Skids, The Ramones, Little Feet, Muddy Waters....

You might notice that I've named my cats after some of my favorite artists. I did have a family of feral kittens one time that were named John, Paul, George and Ringo. Ringo turned out to be a girl.

7.- Have you ever to participated in some Concert of your favourite artist?
I've see a lot of concerts in my time, and of the ones that I've listed in #6, the only ones I never got to see were The Beatles, Bob Marley and the Ramones.

8.- Do you have any preference to listen a Radio FM station???
Growing up in Chicago, I was a die-hard fan of WXRT radio. In Kansas City, there are 4 public radio stations, 2 of which play some interesting music in between their public service shows. KKFI is my favorite, and both DH and I donated money to them in return for being DJ's on that station. We know most of the DJ's at that station, and all but 1 volunteer their time.

Have you ever to listened this one??...,….
http://www.1.fm/Station/SmoothJazz/Default.aspx )
I'll have to listen at home. I'm not a big fan of smooth jazz personally. I prefer Big Band jazz era over the current smooth jazz.

9.- In your own opinion wich one is better, a CD original from an artist or an MP3 collage of music without nothing of information?...
Absolutely the original CD. While we have our entire CD collection copied onto our home computer in MP3 format, we only put that on when we have company and don't want to mess with picking CD's.

And I will add that even better than the original CD is an autographed CD. We actually have a couple dozen autographed CD's in our collection. The big score was the New Orleans Preservation Hall band and Los Lobos autographs. We also have autographed show posters.

10.- Do you play some Musical instrument?
I took piano lessons as a child but don't play nearly as often as I would like. That's on my list of things to do when I retire at the end of the year. I own an accordian and have tried to teach myself how to play, but you would be surprised at how complex that instrument is.

And while in New Orleans one time, I wandered into a bar on Bourbon Street where there was a local Zydeco band playing. They were getting people up from the audience to play the washboard and I volunteered. The washboard had hoops on top so it could rest on top of your shoulders, and you play it with spoons. The people before me played around with it and got polite applause. I strapped on the board, grabbed the spoons and started to boogie down on that board. I got a standing ovation from the entire bar. I'm convinced that I would make a great percussionist.

1-How is your house decorated...Modern, a mix of everything or country theme type stuff?
You could classify my house as southwest mission with a smattering of beach thrown in. I'm pretty eclectic. I also still have some residual furniture from when I lived in the 1884 Victorian farmhouse, but that was more shaker than Victorian, and clearly not country.

2-If you could have a wood stove to heat your house would you get one or keep what you have now?
We had a wood stove at the old house, and have a cast iron firebox as an inset to our fireplace at our current house. We do use it to supplement the heating in our house. It helps to live on a couple of treed acres so we never have to buy firewood.

3-What kind of computer do you have?
I think it's a Dell. Home computers are DH's responsibility, so I honestly don't even think about it. As long as it works, I'm happy.

4-If you could upgrade your computer to any type or model you wanted what kind would you get?
I'm in the process of getting a laptop from a friend who works on them as a side business. I think it's a Dell. He's configuring it now, and I traded 2 cases of Hot Dogs for that laptop and a 19" monitor. I do like to barter than to buy!

5-Where are the kitties right now? ;o)
When I left the house, 4 of the cats were laying on the chairs in the dining room, 2 were in our bed, and the rest were in the sun room. They'll spend most of the day there.

6-Do you like Pampered Chef?
My SIL sells it, so I have some of it. I found a professional kitchen store that sells things to restaurants. Most of my kitchen things come from that store because it is better quality and less expensive than what you find in regular stores, or places like Pampered Chef.

7-Pick one Avon, Mary Kay, or Wal-Mart for makeup?
none of the above. Avon and Mary Kay make my skin break out and I don't shop at Wal-Mart. I have the ultra sensitive skin of a redhead. I don't use a lot of make up, so this isn't really an issue for me.

8-How do you feel about Perkins restaurants for a night out?
I'm game, but DH hates Perkins for anything other than breakfast. We actually don't dine out very often. I can make things better than most restaurants at a fraction of the cost.

9-Whats your favorite season?
Summer - bring on the heat!!

10-How do you deal with stress in your life?
I first try to find ways to eliminate it. If I can't eliminate it, I'll find things that will take my mind off of it or things that relax me and bring pleasure. Simple things like stretching out on the sofa with 5 or 6 cats and a couple of dogs watching a movie are enough to take the edge off.

I hate Perkins too..LOL..And I work there!!! I just had to find out how you felt about my "home" away from Home!!!

I have a wood stove in my house for our primary heat. We are actually going to try and not use the oil heater at all this winter (BF has oil heat in the garage and thats EXPENSIVE to fill so we are only going to fill that one this year) I love our wood stove but hate the dust and the wood pieces that find their way all over my house..Im cleaning everyday now instead of every other day Argh!!!

1-What brand of appliances do you prefer? GE, Maytag, LG???

2-Do you save your bags from grocery shopping? If you even get the plastic bags from there?

3-Coke or Pepsi?

4-Would you prefer a 2 or more story house or all one level??

5-Hardwood floors or carpeting??

6-Do you know what Mopar is? ;o)
^^ guess who that question came from lol^^

7-Whats your favorite morning beverage?

8-Do you like a good wine with dinner?

9-If you could have one designer purse no matter the cost what designer bag would you get? (Dolce&Gabana, Coach, Chanel..examples)

10-Do you want a weiner dog...Franklins being a butthead..lmao..Just kidding on that one!! I love my weenie dog!

1-What brand of appliances do you prefer? GE, Maytag, LG???
I worked for Sears Roebuck for many years and I'm still a fan of Kenmore.

2-Do you save your bags from grocery shopping? If you even get the plastic bags from there?
I use the plastic grocery bags to scoop litter. I collect enough of them to use for that purpose and use the recycle bags for all other shopping.

3-Coke or Pepsi?
Coke, and specifically, Diet Coke!!

4-Would you prefer a 2 or more story house or all one level??
I've owned both and actually prefer a 1 store house. My old knees don't like stairs anymore!

5-Hardwood floors or carpeting??
Absolutely hardwood. My first home project post retirement is to replace all of the carpet in our house with stranded bamboo. I get to use our miter saw!!

6-Do you know what Mopar is? ;o)
^^ guess who that question came from lol^^
I'm not going to cheat and look it up, but I think it's a brand of car parts?

7-Whats your favorite morning beverage?
Diet Coke

8-Do you like a good wine with dinner?
I actually don't drink a lot but will have the occassional glass of wine with dinner.

9-If you could have one designer purse no matter the cost what designer bag would you get? (Dolce&Gabana, Coach, Chanel..examples)
I'm too frugal to want one and have frankly never bothered to look at them. I think they are all overrated. And I'll admit, I've never heard of Dolce&Gabana, and thought that Chanel only made perfume!

10-Do you want a weiner dog...Franklins being a butthead..lmao..Just kidding on that one!! I love my weenie dog!
I love weiner dogs!! But if we to ever adopt one, it would be a full size weiner dog, not the minatures. We've never had a dog less than 45 pounds.

I love some classical and not so much other. Brahams is boring, but I love a good Tchaikovsky. I don't know what you mean by Autor.

-reggae you said in your post,.... some of regaetoon?...
Actually, there is very modern reggae that borders on rap. This is one of those bands. I love the good old fashioned Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, not to mention Ska like Toots and the Maytals, the Skatallites.

I've never seen that one before and had to forward it to a friend!!

what are your favorite pizza toppings?
My favorite pizza is veggie: mushrooms, green pepper, onions and tomatoes. Extra cheese please!

what sort of things do you collect?
Cat hair.

Actually, the 2 things I have the most of in my house are CD's and fabric. I started a collection of cat salt/pepper shakers one time but haven't found anything cool in a very long time.

Finish: If I saw ______________ in a store, no matter what, I couldn't pass it up - I'd buy it.
I thought about this one long and hard and realized that there was only 1 thing that I ever purchased this way: A set of Lawn Jarts. They banned them years ago cause they weren't "safe" and I told myself that if I ever found them, I would buy them regardless of price. I own a set now, and can't for the life of me think of anything else off the top of my head.

Ooooooo......just thought of something. An Ellie Mae Clampett bobble head! I found a Jethro Bodene bobble head last year and want the companion. Call me crazy, but I'd buy her in a second. To make a long story short, our first 2 dogs were named Ellie Mae and Jethro. It's a long standing joke.

1.- Wich one is the most crazy thing that have you ever do it???? ( I mean for example, Jump in parachute, Take a Snake live, Jump in Bungee etc)
I took a canoe up a crocodile laden river in Panama. I also climbed down a 300 foot cliff on my 38th birthday in the Grand Canyon.

2.- Do you have indor plants at home?
I have 1 plant that stays indoors all year round and I bring in some plants in the winter that stay in pots outside while it is warm.

3.- If you can travel in time and to meet to some historycal person WHO would be and Tell us why?...
Susan B. Anthony - She's not exactly related to me, but was given her middle name (Brownell) in honor of her family's friendship with our family. What she did for woman's rights was so outrageous for her day that I'd love to hear how she was able to perservere through all those years of pushing for women to vote.

4.- If you have the money power to move to some part of the world ( of course with your kittys) wich place would be and why.....
south west United States

5.- What is the thing that really anoy you on the persons.......( for example: the hypocresy, the envy etc)
hypocrasy and people that lie

6.- Are you Religious?
no

7.- Favourite Salad?
Taco salad

8.- favourite pop soda?
Diet Coke

9.- Choose one would you prefer to watch Sunrise or Sunset and tell us why......
Sunset because I'm not a morning person

10.- Do you have a car? wich type is it?....
A 2006 red Toyota Matrix

Food/Cooking again...

1. Which do you prefer, electric or gas? Which do you have?
I prefer gas but have been stuck in homes that were completely electric for the last 20 years.

2. Cookbooks: do you like them? What's your favourite one?
I like cookbooks and have a fairly large collection. The ones that I refer to the most are the Joy of Cooking, and America's Test Kitchen.

3. Are you primarily a recipe cook, or do you like to fly by the seat of your pants?
I fly by the seat of my pants. The 2 cookbooks that I use the most are simply to find out the basis of cooking something and not actually a recipe.

And some travel questions...

1. What countries have you visited? Would you visit them again?
Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Panama, France. I've flown thru others (airports) but can't really count them. I would love to visit any of these again, but will probably visit other countries first just to see more of the world.

2. Which was your favourite overall?
That is a really tough question because there are things that I loved about each. France for its culture, Panama for its tropics, Jamaica for its music, Canada cause it felt like home, and Mexico for its beaches and tequila.

3. Which was your favourite trip?
My niece's wedding in France. We stayed right off the Seine near the Louvre, DeOrsey and Notre Dame. How fabulous!

4. Would you live in any of them longterm?
DH has been trying to get me to move to Puerto Vallarta for a long time now. I could visit for extended times, but not sure that I would like to live there.

Yes - memories of when I had a lot of things around the house that never got snagged by claws, yacked on, or loaded with cat hair!
Although I will admit that cat hair slid off of satin sheets very easily!!

And my satin sheets were brown (earth tones of course).

1. Can you drive a motorcicle?...
Drove one once many years ago, but I can't say that I know how to drive one now.

2 Worst injury you've ever had?...
If you are talking about injuries from accidents, then the worst I've ever had (knock on wood) was a sprained wrist.

3. Do you love where you live?...
I like the house I live in. I don't like the part of the world that I'm in.

4. How many TVs do you have in your house?....
We have 3, but haven't turned 2 of them on in over a year now.

5. Who is your loudest friend?...
That would be a tie between my DH and my friend Nancy. I'm not sure that I would call them loud as much as I would call them boisterous.

6. Do you have any pets?(apart of your kitts of course )…....
3 knee-high dogs: Sam (golden retriever ish), Spike (black setter ish), and Lola (lab / collie mix)

7. Does someone have a crush on you?...
I'm a redhead. There are people that have crushes on redheads simply because of the red hair. I'm not aware of any current crushes, but would be surprised if there weren't any.

8. Your favorite book(s)?
The ones that I would have brought to the desert island (earlier answer). Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Gunslinger series.

9. Do you collect anything?...
Pet hair. Actually not so much anymore. I started a number of collections when I was younger and never kept up with them. I have a lot of CD's and fabric.

10. What song do you want played at your funeral?
Changes in Latitudes by Jimmy Buffett.

Ok Amy, my disclaimer: please ignore the ones that have been already covered as I haven't read thru all 4 pages yet, but wanted to post my questions before your week was up.

1. do you have any tattoos? If so, what and do they have meanings behind them that you are comfortable sharing.

2. do you have any piercings? aside from the ears.

3. Have you ever held a snake? If so, did you enjoy it or were you uncomfortable?

4. What is on your MP3 player right now? (or cd player, whatever fits)

6. What is your all time favorite bought chocolate?

7. Whats your favorite colour, least favorite colour?

8. What's your favorite movie?

9. What's your favorite book?

10. Have you ever been anywhere on an actual holiday/vacation? (not counting any work trips)
11. What would your dream vacation be? (a cruise to some exotic island, a trainride across the country, etc.)

12. Do you believe in ghosts?

13. Would you accept $1 000 000 to leave the country and never step foot back in it again?

14. Do you prefer being around men or women? (as in are most of your friends male or female, which do you get along with better)

15. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be?

16. Given the choice of anyone in the world (alive or dead), whom would you chose to meet?

17. How did you come up with the name Auntie Em for your crafty side?

18. Do you prefer lots of questions, or not so many?

19. Is there any subject that you do not talk about? (for me, I don't talk politics)

20. Are you excited about anything right now?

1. do you have any tattoos? If so, what and do they have meanings behind them that you are comfortable sharing.
No tattoos here. I almost got one many years ago - it was going to be a long stemmed rose and I would have put it on my hip.

2. do you have any piercings? aside from the ears.
Actually no piercings at all. My ears were pierced when I was young but have long since closed up.

3. Have you ever held a snake? If so, did you enjoy it or were you uncomfortable?
I've never held one, but I've touched ones that others have held. I have a very high respect for snakes, but they still give me the shivers.

4. What is on your MP3 player right now? (or cd player, whatever fits)
Nothing playing right now, but I had the Blues Hour playing on the radio during my drive home from work. They were featuring local Blue bands.

6. What is your all time favorite bought chocolate?
Marshall Field's Frango Mints (chocolate mints)

7. Whats your favorite colour, least favorite colour?
Favorite - anything deep and rich. Least favorite - pastels and primary colors.

8. What's your favorite movie?
Godfather I

9. What's your favorite book?
Lord of the Rings Trilogy

10. Have you ever been anywhere on an actual holiday/vacation? (not counting any work trips)
As a kid, my parents used to take us camping all over the U.S. and into Canada. I've been most places in the U.S. with the exception of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. I've also traveled to Panama, Jamaica, Mexico (Puerto Vallarta and Cancun) and Paris.

11. What would your dream vacation be? (a cruise to some exotic island, a trainride across the country, etc.)
I'd love to do a couple of month walk about in Australia.

12. Do you believe in ghosts?
Never thought I would until my brother had one living in his house. There were 4 people in that house that saw it independently and never said a word to each other for about 2 years. When they finally talked about what they saw, it was the same for all of them.

13. Would you accept $1 000 000 to leave the country and never step foot back in it again?
$1M is not enough. This country isn't bad enough to leave it for that amount.

14. Do you prefer being around men or women? (as in are most of your friends male or female, which do you get along with better)
The older I get, the more women friends that I have.

15. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be?
I had my house catch fire one time so thought about this question after the fact. I've placed all the family heirloom jewelry into a single jewelry bag to grab in case of a fire.

16. Given the choice of anyone in the world (alive or dead), whom would you chose to meet?
Susan B. Anthony

17. How did you come up with the name Auntie Em for your crafty side?
My family has a bad genetic trait where we call each other by the wrong name. My sister has a daughter by the name of Emily who she called Em. While at her house, she would call me Em and her daughter Amy. So it became a family joke that I was Auntie Em. I was living close to Kansas when I started the business and I used the name tongue in cheek. And I now live in Kansas so it's even more tongue in cheek. I enjoy a good insider joke.

And btw - my niece Emily just became an aunt for the first time this year. You bet I was the first one to congratulate the real Auntie Em!!
