Meowstomuch... your hairless cats

Wrong place to put this thread I believe but talk to me about your Sphinx cats?

Do you have to bathe them? Do they have a long lifespan? Where did you find them? They are expensive, no?

Are they generally the same as fur cats without the fur? Just curious... Cleo is stunning!

I'm not Jacky but do know breeds and show my Ocicats. Sphynx do need to be bathed on a weekly basis because the oils build up on the skin (no fur to absorb them).

They are very active people oriented cats. Sphynx are a natural mutation but basically have a Devon/Cornish Rex personality. They do have a little higher temperature then normal cats which is normal for them. They can get their skin scratched easily so keep the nails trimmed weekly.

Sphynx are not cheap - even for a pet quality. Expect to pay at least $600-800 for a pet or maybe higher.

Here's a link to Sphynx breeders:

MTBee,
Pet quality sphynx start at $1000-1200.
If a sphynx is cheaper then that then the breeder may be bad.
You have to give them a bath once a week or every 2 weeks depending on the cat.
You also have to clean thier ears and nails all the time.
They will leave oil stains on the walls and covers.
Cleo left stauins on my window sill.
They are very friendly and have a high metabolism.
They eat a lot and thier temps are higher then normal cats.
You have to be very careful if you decide to get one.
I have a list of good and bad breeders.
They get cold easy and shiver.
