Is mom cat pregnant already?

Our feral mom cat has two babies that are maybe 3 or 4 weeks old now, but it looks like her stomach is big like she is pregnant again however we think that she is too big and feels like she has more kittens that she just has not had yet...Is this possible?

Here is a video of the two feral kittens we rescued about 2 months ago.

Yes. It is NOT common but it is possible and does happens now and then.

Another alternative is if she get pregnant some days after delivery. Although their belly isnt that big after say 3 weeks...

Their belly is often clearly bigger after delivery and when still nursing. Can it be as simple as that??

Last possibility for common causes of big belly may be worms. Any traces of worms? Can you see her poo? With that much worms they "should" be visible.

Good luck!

I am 99.9% positive it is not worms, maybe it is just big since she is still nursing some, but she looks just like she did right about before she had kittens and that we actually saw new kittens. When you feel her belly, it sure seems like there are kittens in there? I'll try and snap some good pictures tomorrow and then post them.

We had a thread lately with a found soon to be mom. Perhaps only a couple of weeks left. We all onlookers agreed she was almost surely highly preg. After several days in comes a neighbour with - guess thrice -
3 gorgious kittens 3-4 weeks. Same colour as mom, so almost surely hers....

The peculiar was the kittens were in very nice shape, so someone must have nursed them when mom was absent. Perhaps a co-mom. Such happens...

Lesson here? A mom with 3-4 weeks kids may very well look and feel precisely like a high preg mom to be.

ps. It was Stelladora´s thread: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=205587

Yes its possible she is pregnant. They can breed again and get pregnant when nursing. But they would not show that soon. I would get her to the vet to be checked out. If she has dead kittens inside her, it can kill her and poison the milk, which will kill the kittens she has now.

It could be worms, but mom cat needs a vet's care immediately. And figure out when she can be spayed. There is a good chance she could be pregnant by the time you spay her so it would be a spay/abort at that time.
