Is it just me, or has fall lasted longer this year?

Over the river and through the woods...
I'm not talking about temp wise, I'm talking about the color of the trees. Usually our trees peak around my birthday (oct 16th) and by the end of October they are pretty much bare or brown. But driving home from work today I noticed there is still a lot of folige that seems brilliant in color. Maybe it was because the summer was so wet and cool. If so, it's nice that Mother Nature decided to do something in return.

Just wondering if anyone else is having a long "peak" in their fall.

The trees are still lovely here as well, but it may have something to do with the temperature?. They were saying on breakfast news this morning that this day last year we had a heavy frost with snow in some areas, but it was mild this morning

I love fall, it's one of my two favorite times of year. One of things I miss about living in a rural area is the beauty large tracts of wooded land as the leaves change colors.

Spring is my other favorite time of year because it means it is time for the annual crappie fishing trip.

We're supposed to stay at peak color here until the end of November which is nearly a month longer than usual. According to the weatherman, it's because of all the precipitation we've had this year. We're about 50% over the average. I guess if the trees have more moisture stored up and it takes longer before the leaves completely dry up, turn brown, and fall off.

You can still see green trees here ....
Here is the back yard of my house with Jake of course:

It was getting dark and I wasn't using the flash but still, you can see a lot of green! And, it's not just that one tree, there is a lot of green kudzu and grass..
A lot of the grass is actually dried out because there was some crazy rain and that entire area had turned into a lake a few weeks ago.

^ You live further south, though. I'm guessing you have a seasonal change more like my area does. The trees go from green to bare.

My area is actually having a "fall" temp wise. Where I live doesn't have a lot of trees that turn colors - it's mostly chinese elm, cedar, and other invasive species of trees that don't really turn. Not much hardwood. Even the maple in my front yard, though, is just dropping leaves instead of changing colors.
The some winter wheat coming up, which always makes things look interesting. Green fields in December and January.

For those who have that nice scenery around them - share some pictures!

I am im Madison WI and the colors peaked I would say a week ago. It is still pretty, no, beautiful, but getting bare. We have had some windy rain soaked weather. The brilliant yelow/gold/orange is turning brown. the reds are going dark. It will all be gone soon.

We've had a long and beautiful fall here in Kansas too.
