My Autumn garden

I took a camera round the garden today. Here are some of the results:

Gorgeous garden! Mine consists of weeds that are finally dying. Question...are those the kind of mushrooms that you can eat? I have a friend that goes mushroom hunting, and I'm trying to figure out what kind they are. We have a TON of mushrooms in our backyard and in the woods behind but none match her description.

Wow those are some crazy mushrooms. It is odd, i absolutely hate to eat mushrooms but when they are growing there is something that makes me unable to take my eyes off of them...silly i know. Beautiful garden!

Very very pretty. I wish I had your talent but unfortunatly I have a black "arm"...I cant grow anything I always forget about my flowers and kill them!

It's beautiful!! Especially given most everything here is dead.

We have had, and still have, such amazing weather this year that the gardens are still full of colour, not to mention produce. I am still harvesting beans and courgettes (zucchini), and I picked enough blackberries on Sunday to make a crumble. The mushrooms are called lacy inkcaps and grow around 10-12 inches high, and I understand that some people eat them, but to me they shriek out not to touch! I do also have lots of the ordinary field mushrooms, flat and round, but I am always scared of ones I don't buy, as I know nothing about them.

You should be able to take any mushroom to a pharmacist, over there, and ask.

So pretty! I nominate you to host the first annual International Catsite Convention...

Yes I can go to a pharmacist, or to our local health centre, but I don't think I want to know - I really don't think they look appetising. I will stick to harvesting the wild blackberries and elderberries and buying my mushrooms, in many varieties, from the market!

And of course, yes! I and the cats would be honoured to welcome any TCS visitors to our house and garden.

They do look nasty. It might be good to check sometime, just in case you have an animal get into them.

I wish I could easily get some of the mushrooms that come up here identified. They always pop up in my turtle pens and my baby turtles are prone to "tasting" anything in their paths..
