I got another one of these today, from someone at work. As I've mentioned before, I must face the bittersweet reality of having reached my limit, at six kitties. To his credit, the guy currently taking care of this little guy has nine of his own. He's a good man that loves his cats.

I don't even know if this is something that's outside the pale of the forum rules, so I'll just post it anyway and let the mods delete it, if need be. I'n the meantime, I'll help him to explore other options.

So, here he is. I'm in southern lower Michigan and will transport him an hour or so in any direction if anyone is interested, and I'll help you with initial vet bills. I'll also put you in touch with his owner.

Over the river and through the woods...
Oh, just look at the sweet face. He's saying "someone please want me"! Oh, I wish I could, but I live too far away, but I do have a friend outside of Lansing..I'll send her a message on facebook and let you know. I hope you can find a home for him.

I live near Detroit but Cody wont let me take him

If I had my own place right now I would do it! I'd probably even drive to come get him.

Edit - If you have a facebook and make a post about it on the TCS page I will distribute it on my facebook too, I have many friends in MI who may be interested. =) Can't hurt to try.

Thank you to everyone with their comments and offers to help the little guy.

EDIT: Just received word that a fellow co-worker found a home for the little orange creamsicle!
An upstanding member of the community that has been involved in animal rescue for 18 years, that just happened to be looking for a little orange puff for her very own.

Again, thanks to all!

Good you did found a good solutions making everyone happy.

But as a rule of thumb, myself Im against to these free cat to a loving home. It becomes easily a trap. Many people thinks what is free is practically worthless.

Thus, do always charge a sum. If it feels not good to take money, do agree the money will go to some charity or such, in the name of the cat.

I doubt anyone on TCS thinks a cat is worthless....I'd never post an ad like this on craigslist or anything like this but come on, we are all cat lovers here and so I think it's pretty safe...

I'm glad the kitty found a home he looks gorgeous.

Utopia. Right, we here do appreciate cats very much. So this is not worrying me.
What Im talking about is to giving away cats for free to others, non forumites... Or not welllknown animal lovers.

I do see lots of such annonses here in Sweden, free or 5 cents a paw... I dont like them. Nowadays the newspapers ads had agreed not to publish such ads, demanding a payment of at least 100 krona, about one hours payment for work in low payed occupations.

I'm glad you pointed this out, Stefan. Some people who are new to cats may not understand the problem with "free to good home" ads. Not everyone knows that such ads are potentially very dangerous. Animal dealers and others with bad intentions look for these ads in the papers and for posters put up in supermarkets, for example.

Cats and kittens given away for free can be sold to labs or used as bait for dog fighting, among other horrific things. I always contact people who put up "Free" ads and explain why they shouldn't do that.

Thanks again for calling attention to this matter!
