We have two 6 month old male kittens, who are 8.5 and 7.5 pounds - I was just wondering if this is abnormally large, especially our guy who is 8.5? All I have found is shape charts that center around feel/sight of the ribs, which is tough since our boys are Himalayans and all the fur hides the ribs which may or may not be visible otherwise. Is 8.5 lbs okay for a 6 month old kitty or should we be concerned? He just seems big, but it could just be that our baby is growing up!

IMO your guys are ok. I have a 7 month old male and female. The male is 11 lbs! He is not fat, just tall and long. His sister is markedly smaller. That is just because she is a girl. I think she weighs something like 8 lbs. Your guys are just growing up. They do it really fast!

Your vet could tell you what weight they should be, my 6 to 7 month old male is already bigger than my 5 year old female and the vet told me to feed him more as he is very underweight still
