What should I tell her?

There is a post on Craig's list and she is trying to find a home for her kitty. He's a black kitten not fixed or any shots. I can't take him if he isn't medically ready (fixed and shots). Hubby won't pay to have a cat fixed.....that's why I'm considering the foster program to get a playmate for Kiki even if it's temporary.

Anyway, she says they are struggling to feed themselves and their infant let alone the kitten. She doesn't want to send him to a shelter. Should I tell her to contact a no-kill shelter to see if they'll take him? She says she has no one that can take him until they get back on their feet. The kitten (Meeko) was a Mother's Day present for her. He's 7-8 months old...born in March. Good with dogs and children

Maybe I'm just a sucker?

maybe you have a no-kill shelter that you could take him - but, it really sounds like you really want him - and, it's possible that there is a clinic near you that would neuter him for a low cost ??

I know, I'm not really very helpful, huh!

Yeah I tried that already. I suggested the SPCA, but she said they were struggling to feed themselves and their baby. That's when I suggested a family member take him. It didn't seem like that was a choice either. After reading her posts and her emails it almost sounds like they might be young and just didn't realize how expensive cats can be.

I'll suggest the no-kill shelter. Wish I could take him for her, but I'm still trying to get hubby on board for the fostering program.

This is a black kitty, it is halloween.... This kitten is on Craigslist - it is in DANGER - can you at least tell her to NOT adopt him out until AFTER November? No matter what? If she gives this kitten away, I am afraid the worst can happen to it... like being sacrificed...

I might seem dramatic, paranoid, but there is a reason why no shelter adopts black cats during Halloween season - tell her please to do the same...

Not being dramatic at all, tis the season for cats to get mutilated
An incredibly sad fact of life
This cat is in very real danger of a death no one wants to think about

How anyone could do something like that to a cat or a kitten, is beyond me. People like that are seriously flawed. They need to be put away somewhere where they can't hurt anyone.

Black cat sacrifice on Halloween is one of the reasons why we have our black cat. The black cats are in more danger during this time, check out the following link ...

I told her to remove her Craig's list post until after November, and I told her why. I also suggested a no kill shelter if she didn't have any family to take her cat. She didn't reply to either of my last two emails. And her Craig's' list post was still up yesterday. I tried.

oh my gosh, I am in England otherwise I would take this kitty straight away, no hesitation, we get good help with getting cats fixed over here, there are too many strays and unwanted cats already, our rescue shelters are struggling. hope this kitty finds a home soon.xx
