I'm putting this here where it should receive more attention. On my way home from the doctor about an hour ago, there was a beautiful orange tabby in the middle of the road that had been hit. I pulled over and stopped. A man in a truck stopped in the middle of the lane where the cat was which stopped all traffic behind him. He got out, put on some gloves, moved the cat to the side of the road, got back in his truck and left. I just stood there gaping at him. The man behind him pulled into the driveway behind where my car was and got out. I asked if he had a blanket so he went and got a towel from his car, wrapped the cat in it and asked if I was OK with taking it to the vet in town. I said yes so he put the poor thing in my front passenger seat floor space. I got it to the vet and by that time I was a mess, I couldn't stop crying. They took the kitty straight in and got me some kleenex and water. I told them he was dragging his back end and they said he could move his legs so they thought he was OK there. They are going to let me know how he/she is but it might be a couple days.

So please, everyone, send vibes and prayers that this dear creature makes it.

Bless you! I hope you'll be able to visit this poor broken little furbaby - perhaps it will help him recover.

I hope you can stroke his little face so he won't feel alone - you're already suffering with him and he'll know you care.

Praying for you both as you have be knitted together in this space of time.

Blessings,
Gloria

Sending lots of prayers for that poor baby.

And for you, too, Linda. I would be a mess, but you did what you had to do to help that poor baby. Many vibes for you, too

Will you be getting updates or going in to check on this cat? If the cat makes it and needs a lot of care will a rescue group or shelter step up for it? - or at you interest in taking him in? Your two could become three.

I hope the kitty makes it.

Thank heaven for you, saving this cat. What an Angel you are. They will probably scan for a mircochip. Did you go back to the neighborhood to see if anyone was looking for him?

Prayers and all paws crossed here that the kitty makes it.

Bless you, bless you bless you!!!!

Hey, at least the guy moved it out of the road. I've done that before. But to put the animal in my truck without specific permission would cost me my job.

for the poor kitty.

All the very best vibes for him and for you. Thank goodness you were there, or who knows what would have happened? What will happen to him if he recovers?

I've asked them to call me to let me know how the kitty fares.

The area where the cat was hit is rural and there is a trucking business type place where it was hit (that's where the first man turned into after moving the cat). I gave the vet the location so they are going to try to find an owner but considering the mentality of the rural folks here I think that might be a problem. Cats are disposable. Now if it had been a dog - I'm not going there.

The vet I took the cat to has a fund set up called Animals Homeward Bound so I donated $50 to the fund to help defray the costs to help this kitty.

The vet has some kittens there that she will adopt out to good homes plus she has a couple of in-house cats that get the run of the place. If anyone can find them a good home it will be them.

I still get all teary when I think about that poor creature. I just know all your prayers will help so please keep them coming.

OMG how awful Linda.
I would be a complete mess too. Thank goodness you were there to rescue him and take him to the vet.

Jenny, I'm sure they'll find a good home for him/her if they recover. I have to be careful or I'd become a crazy cat lady and take them all home. Hubby keeps me grounded thank goodness.

Susan, it has been horrible. I stayed home from work today because I had a sore throat, headache and congestion and with my COPD, I cannot afford to let it go - the clinic told me I must go immediately to either my doctor or a walk-in clinic as soon as I get ill at all. So I wasn't feeling well to begin with.

OK - before I even finished typing this out, the vet's office called. The cat was microchipped, they found the owner and the owner has had the cat transferred to their vet in the town east of us complete with IV bag and the vet's office said so far, so good. clap:

I'm so happy to hear this news. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.
