It was cold and wet all weekend at my place. Well, for Okinawa at least... Temps around 70-79degrees F or in the low twenties celcius. It was in the upper 80s low 90s a few weeks ago. The wind was blowing and it was pouring cats and dogs figuratively all weekend. All around a good time to stay indoors.
Seemed like everytime I sat down on the sofa Aya immediately came over and commandeered my lap or crotch (she prefers to be down in there) currled up in a ball and tried to sleep. For a lap kitty she doesn't have the best of manners. Laps to her are not about petting, its about a cozy heating pad to sleep on. Woe to the hand that mistakes this as an invitation to pet! -Chomp!
She gets twitchy and bite-y if you pet her. She gets the same way if you try ot move even just a little bit to keep your leg from falling asleep When you finally have to get up to get something to drink, or use the toilet and move the cat, she latches on with all fours plus teeth and expresses her unfavorable opinion about the idea of her heated nap cushion leaving. I very gently tried to spatula her onto the empty sofa or the footstool sevearl times... No go...
I tried to sew with her on my lap. And she found this unforgivable. Same with magazines. The wind blasted the door once and she shot striaght up in the air and landed on the floor. Aparently I'm supposed to hold still and stare at the TV while she sleeps the day away. She's not the most affectionate cat, and while I think its sweet she wants to be friendly, I found myself getting fed up with it after a while.
So, in your opinion is there a thing as too much lap kitty?
