First off.. We adopted a new kitty Fri last week. He got neutered..and came home tues. He fits in well here. Very sweet. He is just over a yr old.

Now to the question...

LMAO Ok.. Well, I know this is going to sound VERY ODD! Please.. I am NOT ODD! I Swear! LOL

But.. He ... "Gets off" On the blankets... or pillows in the house.. OMG.. I totally am sounding weird.

But he gets happy paws.. and has him self in a interesting position..and moves his back feet.. when he is "Done" with this behavior.. he rolls over.. to clean himself.. and his.. Kitty.. stuff is out..
LMAO.. Omg.. it totally is weirding us out. LOL Is this something someone else has come across? Is it something that will go away once the hormones are gone? Is it something I should correct him for?! Omg, I have Never heard of this.. LOL What do I do?

Well, here is Topaz.. our not so Pg-13 kitty

Topaz is so cute!!!
My Jake does the same thing and he has been neutered as well. From what I've read, it's a behavior that calms them down and there is nothing wrong with it. Jake does this while purring loudly and drooling all over a blanket that he likes to bite into as if he is holding down a female. It's not a big deal, just ignore it is all I can advise.

:O I didn't know neutered kitty's did this. I had an un-neutered kitty that also had a blanket fetish and also a fetish for a particular stuffed animal.

I also ignored the act, as long as it isn't interfering with your daily life. For example...my old cat would sometimes view my feet as one of his fetishes and that is something that should be detered.

But you are not odd or alone at all in this, but don't view it as a problem. Like Utopia said, you should just ignore it, unless it's becomming a problem for you personally.

I would not worry about it - he's not doing any harm. Just throw a blanket over him

BTW he' a very handsome Blue & White bicolor kitty.

Some may grow out of the behavior. Charlie was neutered at 3 months old and gets "excited" when making bread on your tummy or chest at times. Jack was neutered at 4 1/2 months - he's never gotten excited.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Fatman (who could be Topaz's twinnie) does this in bed on our legs every once in a while. We can usually catch it before he starts because he tries to get all four legs on our legs and when that happens we usually just kick him off the bed and tell him "no dingy" Its the same code we use for our dog when he decides to lick himself in public except we say "no dingy licking" and it works cuz when he comes back up to bed he doesnt do it he will just lay down and go to sleep.
I do agree that unless he is doing it on you just ignore it and try and focus on something else.

Ari was neutered in 2005 at 4 months. He does a similar behavior with a wand toy with a long strip of fleece. I just ignore it.

Your Topaz is quite handsome. Almost as pretty as my Topaz.

There is this great video on youtube about a cat with the very same behavior... but the subject of his "affection" is a furry hat.

What you are describing sounds exactly like what my Monster does. The objects of his affections are anything from the afghan blanket, tmy boyfriends clothes that he leaves on the bathroom floor, my boyfriends dead aunts blanket (he loved her a lot). I was in denial whenever my boyfriend would tell me he was humping this or that.. I always said that he was just kneading, because I figured since he had been neutered that he didn't have the hormones tht drives an animal to do things like that. He has been neutered for about a year and a half. He leaves teeth indents in the fabric of whatever he is kneading/whatever else he may be doing at the same time.. LOL. I think its cute and I just leave him alone to "go at it" in peace. =]

My cat Pip does this all the time too! Personally, I find it absolutely hilarious! Best of all, my roommate hasn't figured out what it is he's doing and I can't wait until she puzzles it out! We have only had Pip for about 3 weeks, but he's been neutered for at least 2 years (the length he spent in the shelter, poor baby) so it may not go away with age.

Thank you, animalhouse, for giving me a chuckle with your post. I have cats that make bread on blankets and get a faraway look, but nothing like this. Although, back in the 1970's I had a not-PG-13 parakeet who pecked on our toes and ran in circles and clearly displayed the type of behavior you are describing. Well, except for letting "his kitty thing hang out".

I dunno, Tolly is 11 years old and still does it. The behavior started when he was about 2 years old (he was neutered at 6 months)

I am the only thing he kneads on, ever. he starts normal, but eventually the tone of his purr changes and his hind end starts to err...hump up....often I am reading and don't notice at first, but when I finally do, I push him a little. sometimes he will accept the push, have a wash and curl up and go to sleep without leaving me, other times he needs more than one push, then he jumps off, does his wash, and comes back to curl up and sleep.

I was really grossed out at first, but have gotten used to it over the years. If I don't push him off, he will actually ejaculate eventually. ick.
