I don't know about your cats, but mine like to move when the sunbeam moves. It's so funny to watch them 'chase' the sun!

My boys are not sunbeam lovers?!?! They will avoid the sunny spots at all costs, unless of course the furnace is out and their usual "warm" spots are cold. They would much rather snuggle tight into a blanket or a warm lap.
