How long for a flea to jump in a cat?

Weird question huh?

Ok, here it is:

As you might know, I used to take Lucky and Bugsy outside with me under supervision to the building central garden - they are very good, and don't run away, they know how to come home when startled, and etc....
I stopped because of selfish reasons: Being unemployed, had to save $$$ on monthly flea meds - the garden is infested with fleas, and Dallas is a Heartworm area, so they had to be on Revolution or Advantage Multi. Quite frankly, I also think it is healthier for them to not be poisoned monthly with that stuff as well.... It's got to be, right??

Anyways, Lately miss lucky has been bolting to door every time I go outside - I the last few days she escaped a couple of times.
Once I had groceries on both hands, so I guess she was out (not on the grass) for maybe a minute while I put the groceries down and went to pick her up.

The second time Also had a bag of litter on my hand, so it took me maybe... a minute to get to her, but this time I got her on my arms and went to visit my neighbor for a minute or two...

It's been cold, not freezing but cold...
Should I be concerned about fleas? Or it is not enough time to be concerned?

Break out the flea comb, hopefully that will be good enough if you make sure tonight.

However, your cat isn't the only thing you need to worry about. Fleas are great at hitching rides on people.

Actual jumping height and distance for a flea is under a foot - so is she wasn't in the grass or an area fleas were hiding she's probably fine.

^Silly kitty.
I have a young male, Tomas, that I found outside at 10weeks old. He's forgotten being outside at all, and if taken out now is scared of everything - including grass.

I'm pretty sure her exposure was minimal enough that she's fine, but you may want to start keeping a small broom by the door to dust your pant legs off before going inside. I've knocked fleas off me before doing that, also ticks and one time a centipede..
