Drinking Urine?!

Alright, my American Shorthair Sho, has UTI and his bladder's inflamed so he sometimes pees in his sleep because he can't hold it in very well yet.

Just a few minutes ago, such an accident happened while he was napping on the window sill. But this time, he started lapping up his urine! I immediately freaked out, grabbed some napkins, cleaned it up, and sprayed the window sill with Nok Out.

I've never seen him do this before! I mean, this is obviously not normal, but has this happened with anyone else's cat? Is there a reason for this?

It sounds to me he was cleaning himself and his bed out.... not that strange actually - cats like their areas clean including their beds, and favorite spots, i.e. window sills.

Oh, okay... Thanks. But this isn't the first time he's leaked on the window sill. All other times, he got up and jumped off. I'll assume he was only cleaning his sleeping spot for now.
