Holocaust Denier Sues Survivor

This is the same guy who attacked Elie Wiesel. He is suing a woman who survived Auschwitz saying that her memoirs are "vicious lies" and fantastical tales". He's also suing Steven Spielberg and the publishing company.

I can't figure out why he feels the least bit affected by it, let alone needing to sue over it. I agree, I don't think the fella is all there.

I have to wonder how some people can go through their lives being an ignoramus. He strikes me as someone who would believe that everything that happens is the result of some vast conspiracy.

He is not represented by an attorney, he is suing pro se.

He is claiming that he has suffered emotional distress because Steven Spielberg made a film and is asking for $60 million plus his costs.

Hopefully the judge will read it and dismiss it and he'll be out his $250 filing fee plus postage and gas money, and that will be the end of it.

Quite frankly there are severall films out there that caused this kind of distress for me- mostly due to bad scripts or bad acting

Hopefully, it would discredit your legal system if this case came to court. In Germany it is illegal to deny the Holocaust...

And unlike the German legal system, you generally pay your own attorney fees in the US (even for nuisance lawsuits), so if this crackpot manages to tie up Steven Speilberg's lawyers with this nonsense, it will end up costing the defendant money.

I think it is a good thing that any citizen has the right to bring any complaint to a court and be able to sue pro se, but of course there will always be crackpots. There is no law against stupidity unforunately.

There really should be a law against stupidity...I cant believe people have the nerve to deny the Holocaust!!! IMO its one of the worlds greatest tragedies and something we should all remember and learn because if we dont remember and we dont learn..we may never learn to prevent another Holocaust from happening again!

From what I understand this guy will get nowhere. He has to prove that Steven Spielberg PURPOSELY or MALICOUSLY intended to harm this man by making this film. Which he did not do. You see the first Amendment covers a lot fo things to do with the media. I mean there are films out there that offend a lot of people but you cant just go around suing everyone just becuase it upset you! (I couldnt read the article comp is being weird...) And if this lady wrote a book or w/e....its her opinion. You see the plaintiff must do all the proving that what they did was malicious or w/e, the defendant isnt required to. Guess my media law class is coming in handy!

Obsurd. That's the type of scumbag that deserves unmentionable things! I lost a large part of my family (on my father's side) during the Holocaust....people who say things like that really irk me to no end! I would like to have a few minutes alone with him and my louisville sluggar


(In a side note, for those of you who don't know who Elie Wiesel is, he wrote two books about his amazing story..."Night" and "Dawn"....they're incredable! (they're not all that long eithor, I'd really recomend them!)

I think the Holocaust survivor might have a case for emotional anguish damages based on being forced to relive their experiences for the trial.

At his sentencing for when he attacked Elie Wiesel he said:

He must have stopped taking his meds. So sad!!! The judge should laugh and throw the book at him for filing a frivolous lawsuit!
