You really need to ask the breeder that question, most purebreds start at $500 prices vary greatly by breed. Also many have a waiting list, so you could be waiting many months for a kitten. If you find a breeder you really like, ask to go on their list.

$500 was range I was expecting to spend.
I was talking about the kitty in the picture. So its Black and Silver....I thought silver went in there somewhere. Thats the coloring I really adore BF has his heart set on a red tabby he thinks they are cutie patooties!!!
I did ask the breeders about costs...Im just waiting to hear back from them Im not expecting anything for a couple days especially a weekend coming up they probably have plans.

Pet kittens can run $500-800 for most purebreds now. But the adults can be a few hundred ($300-400). Most breeders more/less cover some of the costs of vetting, up to date shots, spay/neuter, etc.

The silvers are flashy

I was reading on one breeders website that due to economic times she was willing to negotiate prices..No offense to anyone who does do that but it kinda raised a red flag in my head!!!! I wonder is she being kind hearted orrrrrrrrr is there some other motive behind it like a possible byb???? Would it raise a red flag in any of your eyes?

It is hard to say if it is a red flag.
My sisters new sphynx that is coming cost way less then my 2 sphynx and she is show quality.
Some breeders are doing discounts right now but you do have to research and make sure they are legit.

To the OP - don't let that raise warning signs. I know as a breeder I'm VERY reasonable and always willing to compromise. To me it's not about money, but about finding them a really good home. I would definitely go for a retired breeding girl (if BF gets his way on the girl). Most breeders find them hard to place but Exotics are really adaptable and will fit in really well. Keep us posted.

I do have a preferance for males in the house (2 male cats and a male dog) but I think that BF prefers females because GiGi our female kitten is daddys little girlfriend she loves loves loves him and he loves it that way thats his baby girl so I think he would want a female to love and adore him like no other! As for color Im leaning towards orange because BFs cousin has an orange tabby named Franklin (we named our dog after this cat) and BF loves that cat and thinks he is the coolest plus I think orange would complete our color scheme of animals. We currently have our grey and white tuxedo (Fatman), black and tan tabby (GiGi) and Hercules is our random "mutt" with white grey brown and charcoal with spots and stripes! Plus cant forget my dapple doxie Franklin who has the black and tan markings with grey spots all over! Ill have to email some of the breeders and possibly see if any of them have any retired cats up for adoption or maybe set up a visit to their cattery so I can take BF down to look so I can melt his heart instantaneously and he can give into me (again..lol) and get another cat! When I got Hercules the rule was only one animal at a time..now look at where we are 3 cats and a dog later!!! Hahahaha
Sam, see what you've done now?

I heard from two breeders last night.. Kat-Uby Kats and Spellbound Catteries. Both have kittens available but no adults. Spellbounds prices are 250 for an adult and 600 for kittens and are all show quality. Kat-Uby Kats are 600 for kittens also. Ouchies! But its something I can save up for in the next year or so. But Im very very interested in researching these breeders more extensively and setting up dates (probably in the spring) to visit the catteries and seeing their homes and where the cats start their lives and the enviorment in which they are raised. Its a good think I want to stay in state because it makes it more managable to go see the catteries and get a better idea of what Im doing. Plus hey I got you guys on here to help me thru this process!!

Has anyone run into any of these breeders at shows? Kat-Uby Kats and Spellbound? They are both heading to shows this weekend

Heard of Spellbound (they only had Persians at the time). Have seen them at shows and from what I remember, their cats are pretty good.

I saved up a year (a little at a time in an envelope) so when Jack was born, I had his money ready (and the airfare to ship him too).

I figure in about a year Ill have enough saved up for a kitten. But I do still have the preferance of giving a retired kitty a home. Just because going thru the kitten stage with GiGi all over again does get a little exhausting sometimes..especially at 3 am when she wants to play and we are all trying to sleep! But at the same time they are soooooooooooooooooo cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

Most of the breeders I found had started with persians before exotics or still work with persians or other persians breeders now

I'm sure he will, handsome little fluff ball! And that name fits him well.
