Hi! Sorry about the late start. I've been watching the workers cut down two HUGE dying trees in my back yard today. It's fascinating!

Here's today's Question of the day!

Do you remember a favorite Halloween costume from when you were a child (or your child's, or grandchild's costume that was a favorite?)

I remember when my sister and I were about 6 or 7 years old, my mother made us fairy princess costumes. She sewed layer upon layer of nylon netting, into big skirts, and sewed big pink and purple sequins on them. Then she made wands with stars on them, and covered them in aluminum foil. We both just loved those costumes! I have some pictues of us all dressed up in our Halloween costumes....but do you think I can find them?????

Mine was a Clown suit. It didn't have a mask because I was scared of the mask.LOL. I wore that outfit for two or three years. Funny thing is, I can't stand clowns!

I don't think it was my favorite outfit but it was so unforgettable.

My mother was big into creating and making our own costumes. I think I was 11 or 12 and she created the queen of hearts. I honestly thought it was the worst costume ever!!! But I wore it and she was so proud.

I think my most elaborate was when Mom took an old organdy dress and put a hula hoop into the hem casing, some can-can skirts, and I became a princess.

I was the flying nun from about age 6-9. My mother starched an undershirt for my headgear, and I wore a white bathrobe over my jacket.

I wore my sister's actual wedding gown a couple of years. My best friend Betty dressed as the groom with top hat and all. People would pass us and I would hear them say "that is a real wedding gown". I had the veil on as well and my sis didn't mind at all. I don't remember exactly how old I was, probably a young teen.

Another great costume I wore was a rented one after I was married. My X and I owned a bar and we had a Halloween party, I dressed as Charlie Chaplan's Tramp and Bill was a Keystone Cop. Some of you youngsters may not remember Chaplan but I could walk just like he did as the Tramp so it was perfect for me. It was a fun time and we had a ball
