Hi All,
Welcome to the most stressful week of my life. I have a cat diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis. I had an E-tube installed last thursday (the 15th) So it has been 6 days. I am having a VERY difficult time getting her daily allowance of calories due to vomiting. She is currently on metoclopramide but it seems to do little good. She needs 300 ml of slurry (1.5 can A/D + 60 ml water) to meet her caloric need. Right now I am trying to feed her 40 ml every 4 hours. That only works out to 240 ml and vomiting is still a problem. I am feeding her what to me seems very slowly (1/2 ml per second) and the food is warmed to about 85-90 degrees and I have done my best to make sure there are know air bubbles.
Seeing I can not get her full caloric need I am slowly losing hope. Am I just torturing her at this point? I don't know what the right thing to do is, I just dont want to lose my little girl
