I want to help my parents cats get along!

So heres the story, my parents have an 11 year old tabby cat and have had her since she was a kitten they have just recently (in the last couple months) adopted another cat who is just shy of 6 months. The problem is the 11 year old cat absolutely hates the 6 month old cat. My parents have tried everything they can think of to get them to like each other or at least be able to be in the same room without swating, hissing or growling at each other.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how my parents can get these two to like each other.

Thank you so much, anything is appreciated!!

I have the same problem. Our older gal Dusty is 7 and we got Squeak in August. She is now about 5 months. The older she gets, the more she torments Dusty. Dusty is the hisser and Squeak is just very over playful and will jump on her and swat at her in an attempt to play. Dusty and I used to be so close, but now she wants to be outside all the time to get away from Squeak. I feel terrible that Dusty doesn't feel comfortable in her own home.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer, but we have the same problem. Maybe someone has some good ideas.

This is one of our stickies at the top of the forum. You should be able to find some solutions there.
