I think I am dealing with yet another cat with FD. I lost Farley V September 08. Goofy came down with it in the winter of 08-09. He is regulated by diet and insulin. He only gets wet food. Now today, I noticed Arthur (he is 9) drinking more than usual. He has lost weight, but I just attributed it to diet change. I took them all off wet due to financial considerations. Put them on dry Natural Balance. I consider NB being a little bit better. Although, I hate feeding dry. I take him in tomorrow am for blood work. I'd ask for vibes, but I think it is diabetes. Oh man, more insulin, syringes etc. He is such a sweet little guy. I found him on a country road when he was a baby. He sat in the middle of the road and ignored my honking the horn. I had to get out to move him and saw he had an URI. I told the lady at the farm I was taking him. I named him after my dad who had just passed away. OK, well we will see. Keep us in your thoughts.

Cheaper wet is better than High end dry food ... any moisture is better than none...

Thanks Sharky. Now, I am wondering if it is hyperthyroidism. His symptoms fit that too. Again, I lost a hyper cat in Sept 08 also. I had him put to sleep 2 days before I found my FD cat dead early one am. He must have gone in his sleep. I almost hope it is hyper. I may opt for the radioactive iodine which sounds very promising. Another thing that makes me think it is thyroid is Arthur is getting very vocal. My late cat was extremely vocal. I have read that is one of the issues with thyroid cats. Well, this time tomorrow I should know. Thanks again for the food advice. I will have to re group and get my head together.
