This is a new one for me. Miku, a seven week old female, sems to have some odd litterbox routine. She's done this twice today, and I'm not sure what it's all about. I haven't seen her do this before.
She just clawed litterbox-style next to her food dish. Then she ran to the litterbox and did her thing. Then she came back to the same spot next to her food dish, and clawed litterbox-style again.
I saw her do the same litterbox-style clawing in the hall earlier before she ran to the litterbox, but I didn't watch her afterwards. She definitely didn't litterbox inappropriately either time.
Is this a kitty peepee dance? Could this be a sign of something being off with Miku, or a sign that I spend too much time staring at my cat?

! It is common for cats to use the litter after eating, it stimulates their digestive system. As far as the digging by the food bowl, this is an instinctive behavior most kittens do. In the wild they would bury their left overs to hide it from scavengers so they could come back later. As far as digging in the hallway, it's awesome that she runs to the litter box when she actually needs to go. It is completely normal for them to dig for no apparent reason, they also will stare at nothing on the wall, or sit up like they heard something when there was nothing.........
