Hi everyone,

I have successfully been able to make the little kitten I caught love me. I'm still working on the 3 other kittens in the alley but am having trouble locating a trap.

Here is my situation now, the little kitten loves me and trusts people. She's been here almost a week now; I am trying to find her a home but in the meantime, should I attempt to socialize her with my other 2 cats and two dogs?

Any time they've been around, she has hissed and growled. I'm assuming this means she isn't ready but is there something I should or shouldn't be doing? Should they just be kept totally separate and I find her a home?

I obviously care about her a great deal but don't want my babies being hurt or messing up the dynamic of our home with the crossfire.

Please help...

If she has been to the vet and had all her tests, and your cats are up to date on their vaccinations, then yes, I would begin getting her used to getting along with the others.

You can start by exchanging smells a bit. rub a towel on the big cats, then on the kitten. back and forth to get them used to each others smells

Hissing and growling doesn't mean she isn't ready. Most cats hiss and growl when they are introduced to other cats. It just takes time for them to get used to eachother.

Just take it slow. Supervised integrations, in small doses at first, extending the time as you go.

Let us know how it's going! And hurray for you for caring about these kittens!
