We've got our last show of the season Oct 25th, there are no shows over Summer and we start again late Feb 210 but my girls will either be in kitten or off being mated at that point so no adult shows for them for quite some time.

We have just one show in November, Jamestown, NC. 3 cats/kittens entered:

Rome as an alter
Jack as 7 month old kitten
Classy Chassis as 5 month old kitten

Next show is early January, Raleigh, NC. 5 cats/kittens entered:

Rome as an alter
Jack as an alter
Firecracker as an alter
Classy Chassis as a 7 month old kitten
Razzle Dazzle as a 6 month old kitten

Then the same cats, same status in February, Raleigh, NC

May fit a CFA show in for Firecracker as well. He was supposedly close to Granding in CFA as a un-altered adult.

All three of our Sphynx will be shown next weekend, the 24th and 25th. The girls will have the one show under their belt from July and this will be Monty's first.

I am excited as all be because the show was so fun last time and now that I know what's going on, this will be so much more fun

The show is 8 rings per day. I really don't understand when they talk about 8 specialty rings and 8 allbreed...maybe someone can explain what the specialty rings are all about?

Susan,
I can explain the difference to you.
You get more points in the Allbreed rings when you final.

In an Allbreed ring, the judge will see all of the cats in one of the competitive category, regardless of the length of their coat. For example, in an Allbreed ring, a judge will ultimately evaluate the nearly naked Sphynx cat, considered a Short Hair (SH) breed against the full-coated Maine Coon cat, considered a Long Hair (LH) breed, and every breed in between. If there are 100 total cats of 30 different LH and SH breeds in Championship, each judge will evaluate each of these 100 cats.
The Specialty judge will follow the same basic procedure, except that he or she will judge all of the Short Hair cats separately from all of the Long Hair cats.

Ok, I think I get it...kinda LOL. I will know more when I see how the judging is laid out. I did do some reading on it after I posted, Jacky, but it doesn't make much difference to me in the long run. I loved the last show and know this will be just as good

One of the judges at your show was at are show.
I looked at the show flyer.
You have the same judges both days.
We only see each judge once at the TICA shows here.
You can get finals from the same judge twice which is good.

Nial - don't know how TICA works it, but in CFA you don't carry the status of adult championship to the alter classes - they start all over - he would go in as an Open in the alter classes and "re-earn" the champion and grand. Only it would be "Premier".

In ACFA you carry whatever title you are at in championship to the alter classes - you don't have to restart.

Skewch - Allbreed is long and short hair cats competing for the 10 finals. Specialty is only long or only short hair and they usually have top 5 finals (unless its over a certain amount in one class; then they do top 10).

Firecracker has to get 6 Winners Ribbons as a open first.
Once he has 6 Winners Ribbons he can start earning grand points.
If he makes any finals as a open the points will not count towards a grand.

GK, ok that makes sense, just the way you stated it. I know that when Maddie became a champion it was in the Allbreed class. I think she did well

Forgot to add Nana & I will be taking two kittens to the Oct 31st show - the kitten of the year & her mad brother Jarmies.

And also for the third year running we're taking a cat that is due to have kittens on that day.
My Nana will never learn.

Where you going to put the cat that is due that day?
I am being told that Cleos breeder might be atthe Arcadia show in Feb.
That is 51/2 to 6 hours south of here.
A few people told me that yesterday.
In Jan I might do 4 shows.
I will go to Lodi,Stockton and San Jose for sure.
I might do San Diego because Wrinkles breeder wants to learn to show.
I have already given her a lot of advice on showing and we have talked about me teaching her how to show in San Diego.
Here is my list of Jan shows.
Tica
Lodi Jan 8th-10th
CFA
Jan 16th Stockton
Jan 24th/25th San Diego maybe
Jan 30th/31rst San Jose
That could change because there is a TICA show in Arcadia that weekend also.
They are getting very pushy for me to go to Arcadia.

I would not do 4 shows in a month, every other week is enough and even then for some cats that's too often. Every week is really pushing it too far.

Both cats will not go to all 4 shows.
The TICA show and Stockton CFA show I am going to for sure.

I hope she will be ok.
They always have kittens at the wrong time.
My Coco could not live with me before and the day we moved to a place that took cats she had kittens.
I had to leave her where she had been staying.

I'll be out and about quite a bit this month through December, but these days I don't know where I'm going almost up until the show closes. Lots of factors to consider. . . I'm training some kittens and will be showing them as adults. I'm averaging 2-3 shows a month now, but will be hitting the trail harder once it's time to start competing for granding points.

This weekend I will be at Liberty Trail (Cherry Hill NJ) on Saturday and Southern Dixie (Richmond, VA) on Sunday. Can't say much about where I'll be after that! Nothing is in stone until the entries are in, and even then. . .

As for doing shows every weekend. . . some cats can handle it, others can't, and some even actually need to be out every weekend lest they forget how to show! It all depends on the cat in question. Plus, you do not need to make your cat compete in every ring. This way you don't risk them getting burned out in a ring that wouldn't have rewarded them anyways.
