Bene-Bac for kittens with watery stools

I posted kitten under a week old. She also got the loose poo...with tiny bits of blood. In the emergency kit of KMR there is a little tube of this Bene-bac..i used it several times before on other kittens and it works..it is the live bacteria that they lose when they have watery stools. I think it worked..i gave him a few squirts in her mouth and it did seem to help. the pedialyte every other feeding seems to be helping her also. The only thing is her anus is swollen from the loose poops.

Poor boo-boo. If she isn't grooming herself yet, you can use a baby diaper rash cream on her anus. Not too much - just enough to soothe.

I love Bene-bac - its like a miracle cure.

Poor baby! Giving the benebac should help some, however if she continues with loose bowels she will really need to see a vet. For the raw and swollen anus, I would dab a drop of hemroid ointment on her bottom after she is stumulated to go to the bathroom. I am bottle feeding a 3 week old kitten (I have been for the last 2 weeks) Good luck

I am having the same issue - runny poops with a little blood in a 3 week old kitten. I took him to the vet, and she put him on Albon an antibiotic). After about 2 days, the blood was gone. I don't know if it is due to that or the fact that I switched from Just Born formula to KMR. It could be the food is not agreeing with him. I also used neosporin on his anus for the swelling and redness. That woked well. Good luck - I am in the same boat!

Iiif the kitten is grooming itself, or is being groomed by another kitty, you can use olive oil on the bumbum ... it's safe if injested, and works well for my 4 ... heh
