Not feeling very creative today. Probably time to fall back on smokies and panfries with some salad.

Just curious Ruth, and other mums, do you often eat a different meal from your children? It seems a lot more work ot me, but I know my sis will do this a fair amount too. Her young ones just don't want all the flavours and variety, they like fairly standard meat and a few veges. I guess it's easier than arguing?

I like to feed my children good food, I do roast dinners twice a week and always try and do veg with their meals I sit with them while they eat but my hubby doesn't finish work till 7pm and we end up eating rubbish half the time but I do try and cook as much as possible, the last week has been crap eating for me and hubby a shis gran died but the kids always eat good, nutritious food, as long as they eat well I don't care

I had pasta with meat sauce last night (creative, I know
) but they had a wonderful yummy chocolate mousse for dessert that I just couldn't pass up

Tonight will be something simple with pork chops.

Tonight I get to cook!

It's going to be marinated sirloin steak with banditos, coleslaw and probably some onions and mushrooms. Going to grab something for dessert too!

Sounds like you had a good time, even if you didn't have anything unusual for dinner, and I'll bet it was a pretty fine meat sauce, too.

Getting behind here. Forgot to come back and post Wednesday's Jaegerschnitzel. DH really loves the stuff (not that I don't). Panfried nugget potatoes and green beans to accompany. I forget what we had for dessert.

Last night was a usual hurried Thursday: omelettes.

Tonight I'm remedying a serious lack of fish over the last little while, and doing panfried sole fillets with meyer lemon and tarragon, accompanied by parslied nugget potatoes and broccoli with parmesan and dill.

Fruit salad for dessert, possibly accompanied by butter tarts (not homemade, but good enough that there's no incentive to).

And DH has just messaged me that he has heard footprints on the stairs -- the kids have arrived, so it's time to go and produce food.

I made Hot and Sour soup. Tastes pretty good to me. DH fell asleep in his chair, so I need to wake him and feed him tofu. I'll see that works out.
He's not keen on 'new' foods, but we've had to change our eating style and he's been pretty good about my experiments.

I had an array of candy, cinnamon rolls, buttered bread, and chocolate.

It was a lazy night. No one cooked.

I was going to make stuffed cabbage rolls, one of my all time favorite dinners and pure comfort food to me when it gets really cold out. However, after running around all day doing errands I put off because of the snow then the bitter cold, I have no energy left. That is a fairly time intensive meal. Besides, I forgot to get egg noodles, and I must have egg noodles on the side!
Might just throw some veggies in a pan and roast them up, thats always good on a cold day. I have brussle sprouts, carrots, green beans, sweet potatos, idaho potatos and snap peas. (all fresh) I think I have the energy to clean the beans, the peas, peel and chop the potatoes, chop the ends off the sprouts, peel and chop the catrrots...
Maybe I will just make a burger. lol

Tomatillo and chicken chili for us. I guess we aren't the only ones craving comfort food on this cold winter night!

Another President's Choice fan I see!

We had party food today, and it was very varied and tasty. I ate lots, drank probably too much wine because it was in tiny shot-sized glasses so I drank more of them. Just having some tea now to unwind.
