Tonight for us it will be individual instances of "something-on-the-fly". DH will likely end up at Golden Arches; I will do my best to get fed something without resorting to that.
I should hope not Fran!Originally Posted by rapunzel47

Osso Bucco!
Tonight Kieran & I are trying the new burgers from work. It's a wild boar burger, with pork crackle, apple and cranberry sauce, aioli, salad and a wholemeal burger bun. YUM!
Yeah we only make the best burgers at my work!Originally Posted by pushylady

Tonight is salmon Wellington courtesy of President's Choice, my favourite brand.Served with lettuce, broccoli, and carrots.
Osso Buco is one of hubby's favourites. It is usually popular with Italians during the Christmas/New Year time so I have to special order the veal chops from the local Italian store because if I don't there won't be any left when I want them. I usually make it for New Year's Eve.Originally Posted by proudmamiof4
We are having Osso Buco w/ Polenta and sauteed zuchini and squash. Yum Yum
VERY interesting. The anchovies are in a "beauty paste" that is smeared all over the roast. It's a James Barber recipe that I tried years ago because I knew how much Rob loves both lamb and anchovies. I was fairly new to cooking lamb at that point, because we never had it at home, but I liked lamb and wanted to do it for him. Well, this treatment surpassed all expectations and is, ever since then, his request for his birthday dinner every year (except one). It softens the flavour. Even my Dad, who was the reason we never had lamb at home, could enjoy this. I had to camouflage the leftovers pretty well for him, but the roast dinner he actually liked.Originally Posted by pushylady

Mmm, yummy Fran. You would be an inspiration to me if I weren't so lazy!
Tonight is grilled pork chops, steamed broccoli and carrots, and boiled taters, with mission fig and olive topping. And a drooling cat on my lap.
