I let it cook down a bit and added more cream. Then I put the shrimp back in and served it over rice. Hubby said it was a keeper and I can make it anytime.
Not surprised that that met with approval.
The phrase in our house is "You can do THAT again!!" -- which became the title of a little collection of favourite recipes my Dad and I put together for my niece a bunch of years ago. Since then, it alternates with "Is that in the book?"

Tonight we need a quick early meal, and I have lots of eggs, so I think it's an omelette night.

Please, oh please keep your snow for a few more weeks.
The soup I'd share with you though.

A trick I learned from an old Greek chef many years ago, instead of milk in your scrambled eggs or omelette, just add a tbsp. of water. Your eggs/omelette will be lovely and fluffier than if you use milk.

Care to share the recipe? I haven't had beef barley soup in ages.

Oh, it's so easy, it's embarrassing! 2 pounds stew meat, 3 containers beef broth (we get the rectangular cardboard containers?) Swanson or the like. I think I bought fat free. 1 package frozen stew vegetables (onion, celery, carrots, potatoes), and one cup barley. Sometimes I cook the barley separately, but I didn't have time this morning since it takes an hour to cook. I will probably add 1 or 2 more containers of broth when I get home.

Sorry, its not all that homemade, but it sure does taste good!

I used to use milk, and then water, but I find I like both scramblies and omelettes best with neither -- just eggs. Very tender.

I'll have to try both ways and see what we like best. Thanks for the heads up.

I actually just ordered a pizza tonight, however I think it is something I will not be having again for awhile, it has made my stomach feel just a little on the wonky side.
Thinking some pepto may be in order for dessert.....

I have company coming tomorrow for lunch so I am going to do a pork roast today so we can have pulled pork sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.
I doing the pork in a nice light BBQ sauce, and am going to do some seasoned potatos, and savory cabbage in the oven as well....

YUM. Haven't had trout for a long time. Must remember that the next time I want to do fish.

I have a hankering for baked ham and scallopped potatoes. I hope my ham source has the ones I like -- I'm spoiled for anything else now, so if they don't, I'll have to move to Plan B -- and I haven't a CLUE what that is! I guess it'll depend what else looks good.
