I still have lots of ham, so it is going to be a quiche-like meal with broccoli, ham, cheese and eggs. We'll have a salad with it.

tofu veggie stir fry tonight with brown rice with a spicy homemade sauce. I have already done all the prep so it should be easy tonight to cook.

Maybe nothing tonight. Our refrigerator isn't working right and if they don't get it fixed soon enough everything will spoil and no money to eat out

If you keep it shut it will keep it colder for longer. You can put what you can in coolers with ice, or even the tub with ice with a cover on top. Grill what you can from the freezer so it doesn't spoil and will last for a bit longer.

Unfortunately I'm at work and have no idea what maintenance is doing with it while I'm gone. I have no coolers and not sure I could buy one this time of year either. Will just have to wait and see when I get home.

I did up a small pot roast last evening after dinner so that will be tonight's dinner along with some lovely baby potatoes, carrots and broccoli.

Hubby really doesn't like potatoes unless they are french fries but he seems to have gotten a taste for the baby red potatoes so that's what he'll get. I love my potatoes and cannot go without them for too many days before I crave them so this is a good thing that he is liking them now.

Good luck with that, Paula
-- the last thing you need is a pile of spoiled food.

For us, something with chicken, I think. There are a couple of chicken things I haven't done for quite a while, that I'd like to revisit. Fortunately they are written down, so I can remind myself what I used to do.
And I have some new potatoes from the other night that will fry up nicely. Maybe some garlic carrots. Something with apples for dessert -- baked or maple poached, perhaps.

Oh crap!! I hope it got fixed OK Paula, because that would really suck.

Once you start adding up all the stuff you have in your fridge, freezer and cupboards it's quite shocking what it would cost to replace.

Tonight we had fish 'n' chips and frozen veges. DH's turn to cook!
It was very tasty though - PC brand fish is really yummy.

i had lamb shanks cooked in the slow cooker with potatoes and carrots.
The shanks were pretty fatty tasting though :/

Well, they never came back to fix the fridge
so it was ramen noodles from the pantry last night
I think the freezer stuff is still ok, still seems to be frozen solid so as long as they don't have to have it off for a length of time to fix it, that should be ok. (Left them a nasty message last night so they better be there first thing today!). The fridge stuff has been sitting at 46-50 deg. for a couple days now though, so we aren't touching that stuff and will have to replace it all.

I'd be really ticked off Paula! They better come in quick and fix it before your freezer gets affected.

Oh, yeah, and are they going to replace all the food that spoiled because they didn't get around to your fridge soon enough? Probably not.
Well, I hope they get on it before you lose what's in the freezer, too.

For us a quick meal tonight. I was thinking omelettes, but I moved the container with the Japanese dishes a few minutes ago, and thought, "Hmmm...sushi...haven't had that for a while...hmmm
" Makes a very satisfactory fast dinner.
