Ok so her breathing is combined with purring, like closed mouth slower panting. Is that what I am listening for? How do I know when she is having contractions. Two days ago I never would have seen myself doing this lol

You're pretty much looking for hard/labored breathing/heavy panting. As far as contractions her belly will tighten up, you can feel it or probably even see it.

Here's a video I found on youtube that might help, there are plenty of other video's on there of cats in labor =0)

wow thanks....If I didn't see that beforehand I would have thought she was in trouble. Yu guys are awesome. Another cat board did not even help me, they just told me to get her spayed right away. HMMM looks like I couldn't have had that done in time anyway.

Nothing yet
Her belly seems to be hanging lower and much flatter at the bottom, most in a straight line but you can still feel the lumps. I wonder if that is because I didn't get to feed her enough is time considering she was dumped by someone? Every once in a while milk comes out at a pretty good flow.

Nope none yet? Am I being punked?

She is still dripping milk everywhere and found a quiet corner, which is not her nesting box (go figure). She has been there for 20 minutes, no visible contractions. I am wondering if maybe she just got her milk early. I am sure it is not a false pregnancy because I feel the kitten lumps. I think I felt some movement, but trying no to be too hopeful so I don't get crushed later. She is messing with me too, I think. She will meow when I am not in there but as soon as I go in, she looks at me like "I didn't say anything"

Another question just came up...do the kittens move closer to the birth canal like in humans, her top two nipples seem a little darker pink then before and a little smaller and the lumps moved further down

LOL! Looks like she's having a good time just making you wait, lol! Yes, they do move closer to the birth canal, but usually that happens when it's closer to time! Now I'm all excited! LOL!

she is being more withdrawn now, see I get the cat who isn't affectionate when getting closer.
Good so they move down...I was like omg where did the kittens go? Yeah, I was looking around the garage

oh and this is gone to far to be a fake pregnancy right, cause I would be the one to have that happen... :p Still waiting......to be continued.....

Yes, I think so. Thus the tummy can be lesser short before the delivery.

Edit: I saw also P&R already gave this same answer.

I am so confused!!!!! Today I woke up and her tummy feels like an empty pouch. Do you think she left her dead kittens somewhere in my garage? She is eating like she doesn't have a care in the world.

Over the river and through the woods...
It could be she had them and hid them (alive). One of the barn cats had her kittens in the basement and she was constantly moving and hiding them...no idea why, but at least we could hear them. She does look awful young so it could be that she had them and they didn't survive. Poor sweetie...I hope everything went ok and she's just being extra cautious.

her nipples aren't huge anymore, they are still bright pink though and she is constantly licking her "area" and her abdomen. Once their milk comes in, do the nipples usually stay huge or do they go back to a smaller size after some has leaked out like in humans? Ugh...I guess we will be in for a surprise either way . You guys are being great to me and kitty..thanks!

Princess, as my girls named her, has been looking around the garage in dark corners but still not sure if she really is preggo or if all that is her milk production system. I took another pic, any opinions? Thanks!

Is there any way you could get her into a vet for a check up or an xray? An xray should only be about 200$ (at least that's how much it was in NC-2005, lol). Hopefully everything is ok with her but looks like she still might be and is just looking for a dark place to have them in privacy, maybe? Good luck!
