I am totally new to this whole thing. We got kitties from a neighbor and thought one was a boy and one was a girl! Wrong, both are female. Fast forward to now, both are pregnant and have given birth. Cruz gave birth five days ago and Kanui gave birth today. Cruz has 5 little kittens and has taken really good care of them. As Kanui gave birth to 5 as well. Cruz was in there helping her and cleaning her off and her kittens. Which I find very sweet and loving. But Cruz now has taken one of her kittens over to the newborn and is nursing all of them. Kanui, who just gave birth has been okay with this and lays and does not necesarily initiate nursing her own. Should I be concerned? Also, Cruz's other 4 kitties are in their box crying and I am worried that she will not care for them?? Should I be doing something else?? Seperating?? Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated!!!!

Interesting situation...

Friendly cats becoming mommas helping each other is not uncommon. Often one of them becoming the First Momma.

The real problem here is the 4 remaining 4 kittens of Cruz... Would be horrible if they got abandoned.

One solution may be to separate them back.
Another may perhaps be to try to interest Kanui for them. As she currently doesnt do much with her own kittens...

Lets hope others do fill in. And you yourself will also probably get useful thoughts. YOU are the pilot in this plane!

Last for now: When all this is over, dont forget for spaying the moms, and also do plan for spaying the kittens in due time: you or their new owners. Unless of course you do REALLY plan on getting new litters.
