It's our 5th wedding anniversary this Friday. Since BIL is staying here for his vacation this week, DH and I have to, um, celebrate, shall we say, when BIL is out. Use your imagination here, folks! Anyway, to set the scene:

Soft light, clean sheets, a new nightie (especially for the occasion)...we kiss...he rolls over and says, "God, I love you! I'm so lucky to have found a woman like you." "I love you too, honey!" "WAAAHHHMEOWWWW!!!"

"Who let the (insert expletive here) cat in?!?!?" "OMG, Nixie's under the bed!" "Well, get him out!" "He's scared, I can't!" "Well, TRY!" "I AM, God-darn-it!" "WAAAHHHAAAMEOWWWW!" "Nixie, come on, Nixie, oh, yes, sexy boy, [yes, that's his nickname] come out; Mommy will let you out!" "WAAAHHHHMEOWWW!" "Hurry up, the other cats are tearing the door down to get in!"

What a perfect ending to such a romantic evening. Sigh. However, I think poor Nixie is mentally scarred for life after tonight.

Oh my goodness...

One time, my SO and I were having private alone time and Nova ran up to my SO and swatted him in the head.

Happy anniversary!

Only other cat lovers can truly understand this story! Sorry 'the moment' was spoiled, but glad you can laugh about it. Hope you had a great anniversary!

If we shut the cats out they scratch the door like crazy which i cant stand and if we leave the door open we always have at least one of our five come up on the bed and look at us like " oh thats what you doing " and will then leave except Bobo she doesnt seem to care she just wants to sleep on the bed.

Over the river and through the woods...
That is TOO funny! It sounds like our house. We spend 1/2 hour chasing a cat around the room, and when he's finally out we're too tired and irratated to do anything but go to sleep.

Hey, at least Nixie didn't find any...ummm...new "toys" to bat at!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
LOL...BF and I have given up the only one that gets kicked off the bed is GiGi cuz she thinks our "playtime" is for her..Fatman just likes the fact that half the bed is vacated and he gets to stretch out and go to sleep so we normally try not to disturb him..LOL..

Happy Anniversary!!!!

Couldn't resist posting here. OK I must have the two most weirdest cats in all existence because when hubby and I get "lovey dovey" <wink wink> They both come lay at the foot of the bed, all the while giving us these soft lovey dovey looks, like they know exactly what's going on
. Invariably of course, they end up getting accidentally kicked off the bed, but they will lay there in the doorway watching us. And then after, they are all affectionate and want petting. I think it's sweet. Yes both my boys are "fixed". But is that not weird or what??

Poor kitty! That's hilarious!

My fiance and I don't try to remove the cats from the room either, or even from the bed for that matter. They have the sense to move or get down if they are being disturbed but honestly I don't think they mind much. Mira will even crawl up on fiance's back and try to go to sleep. It's kind of amusing to watch her try to hold on, though I'm sure it isn't very pleasant for him.

Heh, whenever the husband and I sit on the couch to cuddle a bit, the Squeakster is like, ooo, let me hop right on up and join you. I think it's sweet - mommy, daddy and the kitty baby - but the husband would rather have his privacy

Ok, so I was telling DH we can never have "grown up time" again because ever since Cammy's surgery she follows us to bed, EVERY NIGHT, and I would never have the heart to kick her out, but I could never do it with her on the bed. Then I thought of this thread and told him about it and found it. I read him this post:
