Unfortunately Dorothy is in a hospice about 500 miles from here. My oldest daughter is 18, she suffers from a severe anxiety disorder. I am not sure what to tell her or when. In the last 3 years we have lost both of DH parents. We knew they were passing. we prepared her the best we could, She had major breakdowns with both. There just is no easy way to deal with losing someone you love.

I can't iimagine how difficult this is for you; I know you'll find a gentle way to let your daughter know what's happening. Would a visit to Dorothy (if that's even possible) help or just upset her more?

Dorothy passed away on Halloween night. I am sad she is gone, but glad she is no longer suffering. So far my daughter has been handling Dorothy's passing well. It has been a strange weekend, My ex-sister-in-law's new husband suddenly dropped dead, also on Halloween.

So sorry about that.
It seems Halloween was bad for everyone this year.
My stepmom did on Halloween also.
