His old vet seemed to think it was the wet food that was irritating his stomach if he had any furballs inside him. He was vomiting 3-4 times a week, sometimes twice a day, so i ran him straight up to be checked over because i hated seeing him being sick

It must be the wet food because he stopped vomiting straight away when i stopped it, but as soon as i tried him on the wet again a few weeks later he would start vomiting again

I think when he goes for his yearly checkup next year i'm going to ask his new vet to test him for any food allergies?

Can you not just scrape it off?. I've ordered mine which is being delivered this afternoon, but this morning i've been saying "Do you want some sardines when Mum comes home!!".

Both Rosie and Jack meowed back but it's because they know the words "Do you want"

Gave out a bit more sardines last night. My boyfriend and I were mobbed by CATS!!! The only one who wasn't that thrilled with it was Casper. .. tho' he did eat a little bit of it.

Susan - I have a scarf n barf foster... if he eats too much wet too fast it ends up on the floor or carpet.

You know, i wonder if you've hit the nail on the head?!. I don't know why i havent thought of that when it's been in the health forum so many times!.

Jack is a quick eater with his wet food?. The only thing is he doesn't vomit until later in the evening or the following day, so could it still have that effect on him i wonder?.

It could be allergy or food intolerance. Best to discuss with your vet.

Sometimes Tex - my vomiter doesn't puke for a couple of hours after he eats.. sometimes it is right away. One thing that was suggested to me and works really well is to mix dry kibble in with the wet, put it in a small bowl with sides. Put a small amount in that bowl and press it down with the back of a spoon. I had been feeding on saucers and Tex was using his lower jaw like a steam shovel - scoop and gulp as fast as he could.

By slowing him down - controlling the amount of food he gets - a bit at a time - I have almost completely eliminated the vomiting. If I don't follow this protocol, then invariably I am cleaning up a mess shortly after meal time.

You could try this technique with a limited ingredient wet and see how he does.

Tex was a stray and even after almost four months in my home, he still scrounges for food all the time, I have to lock the garbage away.

Actually that's a great idea!. Now there last night he had a heaped teaspoon of tuna for the first time in two weeks and he was fine, so i wonder if it's the quantity he's having as well?. They don't get a large bowl of wet because they have the kibbles, but Rosie and Sophie never eat all of theirs, so guess who cleans up their bowls as well

I'm going to try the kibbles in it tonight though. I'll try anything because i know the girls miss the wet food just as much as Jack

EDIT: Shopping has arrived and all three of them love the sardines!!!
And that includes Sophie because she's a fuss pot!

Yay!!!! Glad that even picky Sophie liked the sardines. And let me know - you can PM me - how Jack is doing. Getting the vomiting under control is tough and very important b/c he is losing nutrients when he does that. Duh. I know you know...
