I find it so amusing that people actually think the rapist was lying when he admitted to the drugging, raping and sodomizing.
I fully understand why many, many rape victims do not report their rape, people still, in this day in age, blame the victim. Very sad
Thank you for saying this!
I have read this whole thread sick to my stomach, wondering WTH? Blame, Blame, Blame the victim!
She was 13! I remember being thirteen (in 1977 no less) and there is no way I would have wanted to be drugged, plied with alcohol then raped and sodomized by a 44 year old man...even if my parents wanted me to be! I wouldn't want that to happen to me now!
There is a reason that the United States has statues of limitations on certain crimes and none on others. It is so people like Polanski can't just flee the country and never pay for their actions when they commit serious crimes like rape of a child or murder. Some day they will mess up, and then they get reeled back in.
Polanski is a very rich and influential person who likes to have sex with little girls. Do any of you defending him really believe he only did that once? Seriously?
I am sure because of his wealth and fame, many low life parents are willing to give their little girls to him for some sort of payment. The little girls don't get a choice! Or he can just purchase them for his use, the child sex trade caters to people just like Mr. Polanski.
He didn't want to go to jail for 48 days because he knew he would become the one being sodomized. Child molesters are the lowest of the low among the incarcerated. He knew what he did and did not want it done to him.
Polanski is NOT the victim in this instance, no matter how many times he was a victim in his past. He admitted to doing the crime. He knew what would happen if he fled he country. He got sloppy, he got caught. Time to pay up. IMO 48 days is no where near an appropriate sentence.
