Dear SS: This flu has really had a negative impact on my shopping. I've only been out once in about a week and that was to buy Thera-Flu at 1:00 in the morning. (Thera-Flu's good, but I don't think it's what you had in mind for a pressie.) Never fear, I am not touching your gifts with my contaminated hands!

Now for the good part: my mom is going to CVS today to try to get your __________________. Remember I told you about that? The elusive but ____________ inexpensive gift? I really hope to finish shopping and start wrapping next weekend. I usually have almost finished shopping for everyone on my list by now, so I am way behind. But don't worry....I'll mail in plenty of time for your gift to arrive safely in _______________.

I just have to get one more thing, and of course the chocolate

I don't know if my SS is a dark-sider though, so I'm just going to wait a while

Dear Santee:

I thought I was done with all your gifts, then just reread your wish list and decided to pick up a few more things. I hope you don't mind waiting a little bit longer for your gifts.......

Not a problem, Amy. I'm one of the frustrating light-siders anyway.
So there's plenty of time.

to my recipient.

The baking portion of your gift has begun.
I have been baking mass quantities of cookies in preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I still need to find some dutch cocoa though.

I am thinking of sending a small package of edibles early and outing myself. The edibles may be more appreciated now before the rest of the Christmas goodie onslaught begins. Your regular package would arrive closer to Christmas.

What do you think?

You know me, Karen. I'm easy to get along with. Whatever works best for you.
Early goodies might be nice, though, then I can be a real light-sider and keep the non-perishables until closer to Christmas.

Sounds great....but you don't have to out yourself. I think someone else is doing the same thing.

Oh, no! I picked up one more thing today (not what I've been stalking CVS for...which is not a gnome, BTW, I was joking about that
) and now the gifts don't fit in the box. I am learning that either the post office makes extremely small "large" boxes or I have no concept of size.
I think in this case I am going to have to get a replacement gift. I hope ________ doesn't mind!

They have no concept of size. The large is small IMO.

Awesome! I could use a pick me up.

Dear Santee,

I am still working on getting a few more gifts for you, but so far I have found so many _____ and in all different colors! I hope you will like them!

Well, to my recipient, I'm afraid I've had to shelve my idea of making you _________. It turns out I had less _________ than I thought, ran out half way through and no one around here seems to carry it so I'm thinking I'll have to change my plans and make __________ instead. I hope you don't mind and promise it will still turn out nice.
