Also true!
I haven't even gone into the closet yet to see what I have tucked away at the end of the season last year.

I think I'm done with the human gifts (maybe....) I just have the kitty gifts to buy. I hope I'm not giving anything away by saying my "Santee" has a cat.

In other years we have had one or two members without cats participate, but you are safe this year.

If anyone is buying for someone that likes "Hello Kitty", I was at TJ Maxx this morning and they had a lot of Hello Kitty things - socks, pajama pants, etc.

Also Home Goods had a lot of Yankee Candle jars for a very good price.

It was something I ordered that will be part of my gift. Sorry for any confusion.

I thought that a) it was a little early to be receiving gifts and b) if it was a gift you'd have ripped it open and posted it already!!

Well....I hope I will get some shopping done! I just started the Twilight series which I borrowed from a coworker and now I am hooked! All I want to do is read.

I rented the movie first to see if I would like it now I want all the movies and books.

I will do some online ordering tonight for my SS! That's how I get my shopping done and hassle free!

I should have also mentioned that HomeGoods and TJ Maxx had a lot of Lindt chocolate for much cheaper than you would normally find it.

Paula, every time I try to open that link, I get an error. My computer hates me right now though.

So when you are buying for your SS, do you only include their favorites or do you try to include some of yours as well, to introduce your SS to them?

I think it depends if the SS is picky or not. I have seen some that are really particular about their chocolate. If the SS just said dark for example, I would include variety.

It depends to some extent on how their preferences are stated. If what they say is that their favourite xxx is yyy, I'll certainly try to find that kind, but if it's something that I like too, I'll probably include some of my favourite as well. I like to share the things that give me pleasure as long as they stand a reasonable chance of giving pleasure to the other person, too. But if the way they state their preference suggests that they have tried types other than their favourite and really don't care for them, then there's not much point in sending something they probably won't like.

Case in point: I always state my chocolate preference as high quality, but a strong preference for dark, and not white -- or words to that effect. If I get a variety, including dark, milk and white, I can eat it all, but one third doesn't really turn my crank. And the person I'm going to share this variety with is even less interested in anything other than dark, so you know what's going to be left for me: most of the milk and all of the white. Not quite what I had in mind.

I know one should not look a gift horse in the mouth, but we state preferences so that people we don't know have some idea what will give pleasure. Not sure how well that came across, but I have to go out, so can't fine tune it anymore right now.
