Goodbye, my big boy

I know I haven't been around much lately with how hectic life has been but I thought that since he had so many fans on here, I should let everyone know that Scully died of a blood clot this morning.

He didnt suffer long, until yesterday morning was running around mooching like usual but went downhill really quickly and just faded at the vet this morning.

For a cat I took home to live out his last weeks/months six years ago, he was very special to me, and I know to some of you too - and I am happy for every day I had with him.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Scully. I don't know his story (could someone provide a thread link?) but it sounds like you gave him a new lease on life for six years....I hope that can give you some comfort.

It is probably spread over 20 or more threads, but we got him from friends of friends six years ago when they were giving him and their other cat up because they thought their child had allergies. They were both older cats and Scully was 33lbs, he was in rough shape and a very scared boy. Our vet said he would probably only live for a year tops so we took him home to live out his life (we had too many cats already so just took him).

After a few months, he was much healthier and playing like a kitten, and the most loving cat I had met (and I meet a lot working in a shelter), very attentive and amusing with his antics. We have been through diabetes and cancer with him as well as getting him down to under 20lbs - and he has been without problems for a while so this came as a huge shock.

Eithne, my heart stopped when I saw this. I cannot imagine how you are feeling.

Goodbye sweet, beautiful Scully. You stole my heart, so obviously your family is grieving terribly with you gone so quickly and so suddenly! I know you will watch over them and do all you can to send them signs of your love. Play happily - and don't worry about other kitties being jealous because you're so handsome! You'll win them over with your love.

Eithne - I'm just so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eithne, I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your beautiful Scully. He had six wonderful years with you that he otherwise wouldn't have enjoyed, but that does little to lessen the pain of his loss. My condolences to you, Matt and the other kitties, especially Autumn.
