I totally decided that if Ty could go to Petsmart than I would try it with Ginger, today was the perfect day as its very rainy and she was stuck on the front porch (shes an outdoor cat) and was she a big star on her first trip. I took her in on her leash and harness and at first she was alittle thrown off but I picked her up and carried her back to the shelter cats and lets say the rest is history. She talked to them (she has no fear of other cats or dogs), she then proceeded to take me to the cat trees, then over to the dog section, where she walked on top of the bags of dog food down the aisle. She then checked out the dog beds, laid in a few of those. Walked down more dog aisles. We then walked down the cat food aisle. Then I took her to the birds--holy crap it was love. She sat for a good 15 minutes just staring at them. Everybody loved her and commented their cats would never walk on a leash like her. Kids and adults were petting her. She laid down in the middle of an aisle. I also weighed her. She weighs 8.1 lbs and didn't want to get off the scale, so she made friends with the girl working the Banfield desk as well. She finally curled up on a cat tree and I decided she was over it. So I carried her out to the car and she got right in her carrier and laid down. I then ran over to Target and picked up a couple things and she slept the whole way home. She was so good. We will be making regular trips to Petsmart--especially come winter.
