well,I'm back from vacation. was gone a week and had my daughter stay to take care of the cats, dogs, horses, barn cats. daughter said that Bella wouldn't come out of her crate to eat, , then the last day Bella came out, but as soon as she opened the door to come back into the room, bella ran into the crate to hide.
For me, the first night back I went into the room to feed them the wet food at 9.30pm, and Bella just about tried to squeeze thru the bars to get to the wet food. She is now coming to my hand to have her cheek stroked or her whole head rubbed. She is eating treats and letting me pet her, and when she comes out to eat the wet food at night, will let me put both hands around her belly and start to pick her up. I only take the weight off of her feet. She's not ready for more then that yet. She is taking it slow getting used to people, but hopefullyl, I'll get her so she will go to a nice quiet home.

I'm also getting a foster horse this weekend. He's an old timer and needs a forever home where he will have food to eat and shelter from the winters. He will be a long term foster, in other words, he will stay as a foster with me, till his time to go to the bridge comes around.

If I had a barn, we would do the same thing with horses. Sounds like you are doing the right thing with your feral. Move slowly, that's my motto. Good luck!

well, Bella is getting better. She's not running so much from me, and the other night, at her night feeding, she came over to me and arched her back for me to pet. She is such a doll, but is still ready to run for cover at the drop of a pin. The new horse is awesome. I really have to fatten him up by about 400 lbs at least. Oh well, it's fun.
