I called my vet today and he said Felv/FIV is neg again for isadora
he said the hemo( i can't remember the name the one from fleas) is neg.

Is it possible that she could have drank some kind of antifreeze or other poisin that damanged her liver? He says it really looks like liver failure is what caused it, but in such a young kitty he doesn't know what caused the liver to fail.

I dont' think he has ruled out FIP yet

Antifreeze... um... could be possible!!!

My GuaiGuai was once sick because of liver problem. He is 4 years old and just too young to have liver failure...He was throwing up 4-5 times a day. After a thourough "investigation," we believe GuaiGuai accidently ate some bleach in the sink. When GuaiGuai was living at my parents' house, we kept him in the laundry room. GuaiGuai loves to jump into the sink in the laundry room to drink water from the dripping faucet. There might be residue of bleach or other household cleaning products, so GuaiGuai might got some of those resident n his paws and accidently ate some while grooming himself. Ever since that day, we always cover the sink with something....

There is an article on kidney trouble in the July issue of "Cat Fancy", and it cites antifreeze as a cause of kidney failure, so I guess something like that could cause liver trouble, too. The August issue is supposed to cover liver disease.
