Well Suma's babies are now 4 weeks old and I have put a litter pan down for them and it is getting used with some tinkling. So yea
one accomplishment. Well like everyone said they will eat at the litter. So I figured I would put some KMR out for them and some kitten wet food to see how that would go.

Tonight I obvserved a couple of them drinking at the KMR that I put out. Here is the weird thing. I have a separate place that I have Suma's food and she is still drinking KMR to help with nutrients. She will drink it at her station when she feels like it, but when I put the KMR in with the kittens in there own little bowl, she jumps in and goes over and drinks it all. I have then seen the kittens like licking the bowl. Is this normal? does she not want me to start this yet? any suggestions. She also eats the kitten wet food and the smells that are coming from her are unreal because of the kitten food - ha ha

Any suggestions, because I think they are ready to try but she is downing it all, but of course still go to mom for that real stuff and she is ready to feed.

Also, does anyone know when I should expect little poopies in the pot?

Thanks
sue

My dad has two golden retrievers, and if you've ever lived with goldens you know they'll eat pretty much everything. The small one is very bossy "Indiana" and the big one is just a lovable big dumb lug "Raider. We have a game we like to play called "What can we make Indi eat?", it consists of feeding things to Raider we know he won't eat, and will spit out, and then which Indiana will grab the moment he drops it and gobble it up
. Usually it's just lettuce, or other sorts of greens, but it's a very fun game!

I'd lock her away from the kittens for 30 minutes so they can have a chance to try the food
. I don't think you'll get any poops until they are consistently eating the kittens food since their poops will be to watery from the milk.
